Nether Portal Size Problem

I've been recently trying to create a Nether Portal in tekkic classic 3x5 in size, but it isn't a valid one, though when I use flint n steel it just lights up obsidian and does not create the portal. Can anyone please tell me the valid portal sizes or the file that sort of contains them?

Inside dimensions for nether portals in Forge/MC <=1.6 is 2x3 WxH.
