Supetor Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Do you think you could just put the modpack together for me and make it work, then share it in dropbox or something. If you make it work on your computer then I can't, we know it's just my computer. The mods I want are NEI, Computercraft, and Tinker's construct.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 13, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 13, 2014 The Pack: https://copy.com/kmTMvFpZbx80 Take some time and compare what is different between what you were putting together and what I have assembled. I'm fairly confident in saying that the pack I provided is correctly built and that it works fine in both BBP and as a stand-alone pack.
Supetor Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 It must just be my computer because it didn't work. I looked through it before I ran it and noticed the differences. Your version has neiaddons, and there are more config files. When I ran the pack in barebones I never got more than one or two config files. Other than that they seemed pretty similar. For some reason it still didn't work though. It just went back to the launcher. I found this inside the logs folder. http://pastebin.com/xxQJFsiQ I just had an idea as to what it might be. Maybe I have an outdated launcher. I use a cracked launcher so there's a good possibility of that. It is really weird that this doesn't work because shortly after I got on this forum I created a pack that just had the 1.6.4 version of computercraft, and it worked except it didn't have sound (which google research tells me was a common problem in 1.6.4) I don't know why that would have worked but this doesn't
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 14, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 14, 2014 Do you really have a 32bit version of Windows 7 on your PC? If you have the 64bit version of Windows 7 you need to uninstall your current Java and install the 64bit Java 7 JRE. I'm starting to think that something very wonky is going on with your PC. If you are willing I would be open to doing a remote session with TeamViewer to figure this out as my curiosity is now piqued. This is totally safe but if you are uncomfortable with it that is fine. I don't know what else to suggest.
Supetor Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 How did u know it was 32 bit? was that in the pastebin? either way, I thought I had gotten 64 but maybe not. Tell me about teamviewer. Is it something where you can just see my screen or is it one that allows you to remotely interact with my computer? I would probably trust you either way but I would like to know if you have any computer credentials that might help me trust you a little more.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 14, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 14, 2014 Java is Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM, version 1.7.0_67, running on Windows 7:x86:6.1, installed at C:Program Files (x86)Javajre7 Note the "x86" in both the Windows version and the Program Files folder. This shows you running 32bit Java. As for Teamviewer, yes it is bi-directional but it is realtime for both of us so you would be watching things and can interact just as I could and you can terminate things at any time. We could also do Skype and you could share your screen. That is not as high quality and more cumbersome but might give you more peace of mind. As for my credentials I've gotten almost 2500 posts here doing support with nary a complaint along with over 20 years of doing this kind of thing for a living, not that you have any reason to believe me . Your call.
Supetor Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 I think that would be something I would like to do. I am busy tomorrow (Saturday) but I might be able to do it Sunday if you want, or we could wait until the weekdays sometime. Is there a way to swap information on this website so that it isn't public? Like a private message system?
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 17, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 I sent you a PM. Look in the upper right corner of this page and you should see a red envelope.
