Krutonius Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I wanted to start another topic cause the other one was more about turning a client modpack into a server. This time I'm trying to directly download a server pack and run it, which should be simple as downloading it and running it, but obviously I'm missing something. I'm downloading the server file from this website: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/infamy-modern-warfare-beta.192665 Which takes me to this site: http://infinixnetwork.enjin.com/forum/m/3999302/viewthread/12280351-cataclysm-official-serverfile/post/last#last And when I extract the files to a folder and run it, the server doesnt run and I get this log: http://pastebin.com/DTghJBVR Thank you for any help! Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted August 22, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted August 22, 2014 Since the only way to download the server archive is to register on that forum you might have some difficulty getting help here. Additionally, since it's their pack wouldn't it make more sense to request help there? Quote
Krutonius Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 My apologies, im registered on the site and I was able to download the pack. Just thought you've been so helpful I'd ask here. I'll go ask there. Quote
Krutonius Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 If you would be so kind and take a mind a minute of your time to look through a Pastebin or 2 and let me know what's happening. So far replies are slow on other forums and I know you're amazing at helping guys like us! I would really really appreciate it ☺ This from my dedicated server http://www.pastebin.com/DTghJBVR This is run on my own PC http://pastebin.com/is5WkUKi Thank you again Quote
disconsented Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Looks like you are trying to use a bukkit plugin without cauldron Quote
Krutonius Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Is that something that needs to be in my server folder? Cause I downloaded the server files straight from the author so I just assumed it would work Quote
disconsented Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 You NEED to install cauldron for plugins, instructions are on the wiki http://cauldron.minecraftforge.net/ Quote
Krutonius Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Yes I understand I need cauldron. I just assumed that downloading this server file it would already be in there. Considering the author runs a server with the same files. I have 1 more hour at work then I'll be home to test things out! Thank you! I'll update when I get home Update: Did not need to add cauldron, they were already in the server files. Update2: Got server to run on my own PC, turns out it was a combo of: 1. Not knowing it was running cause I was used to a java server window popping open (just the cmd window was open this time) amd 2. I didn't have ports forwarded on my own PC cause I had only planned to run a server on my VMs. This will suffice for now while one of my friends and i test out the server, but eventually I want to run it on my dedicated server. When I run the exact same server files on that server I get this log and it doesnt even make it to world gen or anything. http://pastebin.com/2AaDxCtJ Thanks again for the help! disconsented Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Update cauldron, run the installer and make sure you keep the libs and minecraft_server Quote
Krutonius Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) I tried latest Cauldron and the recommended cauldron and its still doing the same thing: recommended cauldron log: http://pastebin.com/2Rf4AzcS latest cauldron log: http://pastebin.com/zzErYHkf Edited August 24, 2014 by Krutonius Quote
Krutonius Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Finally worked it out, posdting for anyone having the same issue of Cauldron/MCPC not fully launching. I had to install Microsoft Visuals C++ 2008 Redistributable (x64). "installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2008 installed." Quote
