theholychilli Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Hi, I went on MCEdit to cut out some blocks to make room for a particle accelerator that I was going to make. So I start my server back up, and the hole is there that I made, however, it lags to the extreme. Only 1-2fps. I have been running it for a few days and it has been fine, up until this point where I edited some blocks out. I went back into MCEdit and put the blocks back, but that didn't fix the lag. I have about 3/4 gb dedicated to the server (out of my 8gb) and I have an FX-8350 CPU. It's unplayable, and me and my friends want to build the particle accelerator. Quote
Kalbintion Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Could be lighting updates that need to happen that werent properly done by MCEdit, how long did you let the game run with the low FPS? Quote

Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted September 2, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted September 2, 2014 I would try using one of the current Dev builds of MCEdit: https://bitbucket.org/codewarrior0/mcedit/downloads/ Make sure that MCEdit does it's lighting recalculations. Quote

I downloaded the most recent build and loaded up my server world. However, I didn't spawn on my server spawn, I spawned a few hundred blocks away. When I went towards our houses/buildings/etc. everything did not render in. It stopped at a certain point. Also, how would I make sure that MCEdit does that? Quote
Kalbintion Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Generally you'll see it doing lighting calculations when you go to save the world. There's also a button (under the chunk tool, if im not mistaken) to manually tell it to re-do lighting calculations. Quote
theholychilli Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 Generally you'll see it doing lighting calculations when you go to save the world. There's also a button (under the chunk tool, if im not mistaken) to manually tell it to re-do lighting calculations. I did this, I selected the chunks where I thought my buildings were. When I say thought, it's because MCEdit just spawns me in at a random place (which is only a short walk from where my house is) and then when I get near to where I think my house is (recognisable by the biomes) the world just stops. And there is what looks like an orange barrier. How to fix this? And the lighting chunks did not work. I still get 1-2fps on my server. Quote
Kalbintion Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Not sure what to tell ya besides post this issue on the tracker Edit:if this is a vanilla copy of Tekkit, link at top of page, ensure you include a launcher log. Edited September 3, 2014 by Kalbintion Quote
