Jetblast Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 I was wondering if its possible to play my single player world in survival mode, but without mobs? Mock me all you want, as much as I would love to play with creepers, in all honesty the mobs scare me. Its not the fact that they are what they are, I would happily look at a beautiful creeper/spider/skeleton, just the noises they make really put my hair on end >.< Quote
Torezu Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 It's called Peaceful. It's a difficulty setting change inside the Options menu once the game starts. It makes hostile mobs go *poof* as soon as they spawn. Occasionally a skeleton will get off an arrow, but that's it. Otherwise, just shut off your sound. :) Quote

I'm playing peaceful at the moment, but would like to have that other element of having to eat every once in a while. Quote

Luckyarcade Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 If you go into Mo'creatures settings, you should be able to set the spawn rate of monsters to zero. It's found in the 'global mods settings' in the pause menu. Quote

Also how long will it take to get rid of current mobs once I choose 'hard' in the menu? Quote
Blocker226 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 thanks, but is it 100% accurate? will it definitely not spawn any mobs wherever I go? Yes, it should be. In my Yogbox World I removed all hostile mobs so the only mobs that do spawn are them brainy zombies. :P Quote

Also how long will it take to get rid of current mobs once I choose 'hard' in the menu? It is 100% accurate, but I'm not sure it actually despawns any existing monsters. I would switch to peaceful, then set monster spawn rates to zero, then switch back to hard, or whatever difficulty you want. Quote

Excellent, thanks everyone EDIT: Just one more question, would mobs spawn from a mob spawner or would they just be like in peaceful mode despawned straight away? edit 2: Just tested it out; underground mobs are still spawning. Only hostile mob I have which can spawn is the enderman Quote
Torezu Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Monster spawn rates in Mo' Creatures settings don't affect dungeons or More Dungeons as far as I know. Quote
Luckyarcade Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Make sure the 'change vanilla spawns' is set to yes, but like Torezu said it probably only affects natural spawning. You'll just have to switch to peaceful and destroy the spawners, or collect the loot. Quote
