Ultra Modded Survival crashes at 99% loading

I have installed the modpack Ultra Modded Survival to play with some friends but mine wont start. It loads all the way to 99% then crashes and close.

I have tried to open Tekkit, and other modpacks and they all do the same. But Hexxit and Voltz do work correctly.

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

This error means that the client is running out of memory. That crash report shows you you are running the correct version and platform of Java, but that the memory allocation is set to 512M. For a large pack like UMS you will want to set it to at least 2G and preferrably 3G if you have more than 5G in your PC.

Take a closer look at that plow, notice that he has it set to 4G via the launcher, but it is being overwritten by the 512M.

 

This issue is related to the _JAVA_OPTIONS environment variable being set.

enter "environment"

click "Edit environment variables for your account"

remove _JAVA_OPTIONS from top and bottom lists if it exists

 

Try again, if the issue happens again, ensure the variable is no longer present then reboot and attempt once more.
