Bukkit Plugins Tekkit Compatibility Questions

Recommended Posts

My server is CentOS 5.x running Tekkit 2.11 w/ McMyAdmin (v0.9.7.6, Enterprise edition).

Currently, I have Essentials 2.8.4 and Group Manager 2.8.4 installed. (I disabled all of the plugins that came with the Tekkit Pack for testing purposes)

Group Manager works fine and is properly linked to McMyAdmin. A folder was generated for Group Manager and all the server worlds.

Unfortunately, no Essentials folder was created. I created it myself but no files are being generated when I restart my server.

This is a log of my console after the tekkit mods load:

CONSOLE: This server is running CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-1.1-R4-b1938jnks (MC: 1.1) (Implementing API version 1.1-R4)

CONSOLE: Default game type: 0

GroupManager: Loading GroupManager v1.9 (2.8.4) (Phoenix).

CONSOLE: GroupManager - INFO - World Found: world

CONSOLE: GroupManager - INFO - World Found: nekrotech_the_end

CONSOLE: GroupManager - INFO - World Found: nekrotech_nether

CONSOLE: GroupManager - INFO - World Found: nekrotech

CONSOLE: GroupManager - INFO - Superperms support enabled.

CONSOLE: GroupManager - INFO - Scheduled Data Saving is set for every 10 minutes!

CONSOLE: GroupManager - INFO - Backups will be retained for 24 hours!

CONSOLE: GroupManager version 1.9 (2.8.4) (Phoenix) is enabled!

BukkitCompat: Loading BukkitCompat vr16B.

CONSOLE: McMyAdmin Compatibility Plugin version r16B started.

Essentials: Loading Essentials v2.8.4.

CONSOLE: Server permissions file permissions.yml is empty, ignoring it

CONSOLE: RP2 Core successfully loaded in EE.

CONSOLE: RP2 World successfully loaded in EE.

CONSOLE: GroupManager - INFO - Bukkit Permissions Updated!

I'm specifically looking for Essentials, Group Manager, LWC, LogBlock, McBans, BOSEconomy,

ShowcaseStandAlone, World Guard, World Edit and Dynmap.

Do I have to use old versions of plugins to use with my Tekkit server? If so which versions should I be looking for?

Yes you do. Tekkit is only version 1.1, and as such Essentials 2.8.4 should be used.

Essentials Extra 2.8.4: https://github.com/downloads/essentials/Essentials/Essentials-extra-2.8.4.zip

Essentials Group Manager 2.8.4: https://github.com/downloads/essentials/Essentials/Essentials-gm-2.8.4.zip

Gawd I'm an idiot sometimes. I always find answers on my own like within minutes of posting.

Anyways, yeah right before you posted I went and grabbed that version and put it on my server.

However, it didn't resolve the issue. An Essentials folder is not being generated. I deleted the group manager folder when I reverted to the older version and that folder is being generated. Does this make any sense?

Just recreated the error. I had to use 2.8.2 instead.

I have another question, for an opinion. Is there a reason to have CommandBook and Essentials, or CommandBook instead of Essentials? I think they seem to be redundant. Am I correct in assuming so? Does CommandBook have features that Essentials doesn't cover?

So is it a mandatory task to have essentials extra and group manager installed, and would i need all of the jars from each one in my plugin folder, need some help, im not the best with plugins haha :/
