mub Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) Hey All, Please note, that my first attempt at creating a new Mod Pack worked fine, but now I get the following issue..... Please read the log extract below. You'll see a failure to download "akka-actor_2.11-2.3.3.jar". (Be aware I'm not requesting this .jar file in my mod pack, it's just something that seems to be requested by Technic Launcher automatically.) I've tried the url in firefox and IE and both report HTTP 403 Forbidden. I'm at the start of making my own mod pack and it seems to be downloading my modpack.zip file OK. I've deleted my entire .Technic folder. I've tried recreating the modpack.zip file. I've tried re-creating the Mod Pack entry on the Technic Web site. My antivirus is not blocking it. It's looks like a standard HTTP 403 Forbidden error. Installing the Tekkit mod pack seems to work perfectly OK, so I'm guess it's not required for that one. Here is the log extract.... ilturco Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I was JUST about to post this. The file is from Minecraft.net, and I'm having the same thing. It only happens when you re-start your .technic, like I did, or you try a modpack with Forge on a version you've never played before. Can anyone offer a fix, it's a pain going through. If anyone wants to replicate our problem and see if you're having the same one, move your .technic and then start Technic Launcher and try a 1.7 modpack (only seems to happen on 1.7, maybe only 1.7.10) and see if you get the same results. for me too! mub 1

Make sense because mine was working until I wiped my .technic folder. Any ideas where else we should post about the issue to help spread the word. I'm going to get a few friends to try to replicate the issue and post the result here, if you all can do the same that would be great. Thx /mub
Onihane Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I had taken a break from minecraft for about 2 weeks, and I come back today to find my client giving me this same error every time I try to get on pixlespark. Hopefully a fix is on the way.......
MichaelCaplin Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Yes, a fix for this would be much appreciated!
Banjobeni Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Same here. Rolled together an update for my custom techniclauncher-based modpack a while ago and updated to it successfully back then. Another player tried to update today and fails to download akka-actor_2.11-2.3.3.jar file from libraries.minecraft.net. The url https://libraries.minecraft.net/com/typesafe/akka/akka-actor_2.11/2.3.3/akka-actor_2.11-2.3.3.jar leads to 'AccessDenied'. I guess they messed up over at minecraft.net and hope they can sort it out fast.
Lunadraconis Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I'm also getting the same problem with my modpack however. I AM able to download and play it, but people i send to it are not able to. They get the same "akka-actor" download failure. I delved into my Technic files and found the akka-actor file in my technic so i don't know if its a Technic problem or?

Kalbintion Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.typesafe.akka/akka-actor_2.11/2.3.3 Is where you can download the file from the official source, and it would be placed into .techniccachecomtypesafeakkaakka-actor_2.112.3.3 Edited September 27, 2014 by Kalbintion
MichaelCaplin Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Thank you! That worked, until i was asked for a second file as well. But that was easily found on the site you provided:http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.typesafe/config/1.2.1 Put it in the .techniccachecomtypesafeconfig -folder instead of the "akka"- folder and everything will be dandy.

Ultima Hawke Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I had this problem too, thanks for a solution.
Kalbintion Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I got ALL the 2 required libraries that don't work, and if you take this and extract it to your .technic, it will have a "cache" folder already filled with the necessary items. If you need this, here is the link: https://copy.com/CGv3PhIY90kaq9wJ/cache.zip Third-party sources can edit the files, thus making them be malicious in intent. If something is missing and it cannot be downloaded directly from the url provided by the launcher, searching google with the exact file name (but not url name!) should bring up a location to get it from the official source. I always recommend getting things from official sources. I understand this post was designed to be helpful, but always be cautious about untrusted sources for anything.

luigimario211 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) Yeah, my friend had this issue, done both files in their respectful places and then everything loads up to the CB Loader and then it takes him back with the launcher saying that the twitch-platform.jar file is not working either. Then, he's back to square one with the 0%/download failed issue. I really hope that every file hasn't been moved. Edited September 29, 2014 by luigimario211

Moderators Munaus Posted September 30, 2014 Moderators Posted September 30, 2014 the issue with this missing file should now be fixed: http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/issue-3764-unable-to-download-akka-actor-211-233jar-with-my-own-new-mod-pack/?st=20
mub Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) Munaus is correct. I've tested and confirmed it all seems to be working fine again now. Please pass on my thanks to the person who fixed it. @Munaus - Thanks for the warning point. I Love you too! /mub Edited October 2, 2014 by Munaus
