Launcher/pack Version: Tekkit v 3.0.3

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit

Version of Java: v7 64 bit

Description of Problem: Whenever I attempt to launch my Tekkit server it tells me it was unable to bind to the port given. This persists no matter what port I use.

Error Messages:

[WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND PORT!

[WARNING] The exception was: java.net.socketException: Permission denied: listen failed

[WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port?

Link to pastebin of log: I'm not sure what this means sorry.

I know that I am not running another server and this problem persists no matter what port I assign the server too, leading me to believe that there is some other reason this is failing.

Hum okay its not that then.

(normally if a server-ip is filled in thats wrong it wont bind).

Please do the following (assuming you are on windows vista/7)

[list type=decimal]

[li]Click Start[/li]

[li]Type 'cmd' into the search box, when cmd.exe appears right click and run as admin[/li]

[li]Black box appears, in the black box type the following: 'netstat -anb > c:\netstat.log' (without quotes)[/li]

[li]Open My computer[/li]

[li]Goto your C Drive[/li]

[li]Open Netstat.log - copy its contents into www.pastebin.com & share the link with us.[/li]

it will tell me what ports are being used, and what programs are using them, so then i can say "Blah Blah is using port x, you might want to close Blah blah"

(p.s.

I work in the IT Industry, you have to talk to everyone like they have never used a PC before as we are not physic, so we do not know your level of skills...

However, i did assume you would not know how to open cmd as you didnt know how to copy and paste something into pastebin...)

lol @ utorrent.

Do you have any VPN software installed, such as Hamachi?

It might be worth running IP Config and putting your LAN Ip into the server-ip field in server.properties.

From what i can tell your LAN ip is 192.168.123.50

chances are you are running another tekkit server in the background. look at your process in task manager, if you see two "java.exe"'s then your trying to run both on the same port.... Kill both and restart
