  1. There was a post way back that had the best setup for 2 turbines running at 1800 rpm (I tried to find it through a search but couldn't find it). I followed that to get my BR setup going. To be honest, the hardest part was filling the thing up with Gelid Cryotheum. That stuff is very hard to work with. One wrong step and you lose all your items.
  2. So, I am gearing up to head to the moon and I built a test building on the overworld to test out a few things, and I ran into an issue. Even though I had added Hardened Glass to the galacticraft config file for sealable blocks, they still won't seal. I made a very short (3 minute) video explaining my problem.
  3. Using the AE network seems like it would be going against the spirit for the whole concept of going to another planet/moon. I was thinking I could make a couple deep storage units to hold all the hardened glass/aluminum blocks that I want to take for all of my structures. Eventually, once I get my oxygen and electricity supply chain sorted out, I'll bring in some of the ore processing machines from the galacticraft pack and get a meteoric iron ore processing room set up. Does anyone know if you can pulverize meteoric iron ore into dust?
  4. Fuel loader, check. I have several portable tanks with rocket fuel in them, I'll bring some along. Do I need to bring launch pad blocks? Looking more and more like I'm going to have to make more than one trip to get everything I need to the moon before I can start.
  5. Do you know if the Lux Capacitors work? I'm also considering building a giant dome out of Hardened Glass and inverted lamps. I'm also going to bring some aluminum blocks and some decorative tin blocks for my primary building materials. I was thinking of taking a few tesseracts and setting up a moon frequency. Also, while looking at this list, I see that I forgot to make some Energy Storage Modules to store all the power my solar panels gather for those extra long moon nights. I should probably bring some meat ingots as well. About the AE network, someone else on the server set up one, but I have no idea how to use it.
  6. Hey guys, I'm trying to get everything I need to take with me to the moon, and have some questions. I have: 1 Oxygen Sealer, 1 Oxygen Decompressor, 1 Oxygen Bubble Distributor, 1 Electric Compressor, 28 Air Lock Frame, 26 Sealable Oxygen Pipe, 32 Sealable Heavy Aluminum Wire, 15 Advanced Solar Panel, 4x64 Heavy Aluminum Wire, 5x64 Oxygen Pipe, 64 Dirt, 64 Saplings, 12 Heavy Oxygen Tank, 10 Oxygen Gear, 10 Oxygen Mask, 8 Diamond Chest, 8 Parachute. I'm using a Power Fist with all the tools on it, so I shouldn't need to bring any tools. What else should I take with me? Should I bring some stacks of compressed metal?
  7. Thanks for the pro tip concerning the cave world.
  8. While discussing with the people on the server, we decided we don't want to use EE3 in order to get the pearls. We're either going to catch and enderman with a net and make a kill room using a grinder, or we'll use mystcraft to make a world with a lake of resonant ender and pump it out. We just think it's cooler these other ways.
  9. Ok, just an update. I have an Ender-Thermic Pump pumping into an Ender tank, the Ender tank is feeding into a magmatic dynamo, the dynamo has energy conduit connected to the pump. I had to prime the dynamo with a bucket of lava to get it started, but now it is up and running. Using an Ender tank, a Magmatic Dynamo and an Ender chest, I now have a way to set up remote quarry locations anywhere I want. This will get me by until I can get the resonant ender in the quantities I need to make a few tesseracts.
  10. Looks like I'll need 5 ender pearls in order to make the Ender-Thermic Pump, plus 12 obsidian and a diamond? That really isn't all that bad. Plus I'll need at least 2 more ender pearls for the pair of ender tanks I'll need to actually get the lava back to the overworld. This seems pretty doable for the short term. I checked out EE3 and it does look like a way to get to tesseracts faster. I'll probably check that out.
  11. Hey guys, I have a pump BC pump that is pumping lava into a tank, and I want to move that lava back to the overworld, but I am very far off from having the resources to make a tesseract. Can I use an ender tank instead? How do I make sure that the chunk with the pump in it is loaded?
  12. Ok, that's great. Thanks for the help guys. Now I just need to find a hosting site that can host a tekkit server without incredibly bad lag. I've tried several companies and they all have lag so bad blocks pop back into place and mobs just rubberband around.
  13. I've been waiting around until the next version of tekkit that had a version on minecraft that spawned Blizz so I wouldn't have to spawn in the rods in order to make the gelid cyrotheum for my actively cooled big reactors. But when I look at the mods included in the latest suggested build of tekkit, I dont even see big reactors listed there. So... Does this version of tekkit have blizz that spawn? Is big reactors still in the pack?
  14. I need to farm ender pearls and blizz rods in order to make my big reactors more efficient. Would this be the best way to do this?
  15. Ok, thanks. I actually had 12 input ports on my reactor with liquiducts connected to max sized tanks, and each tank filled by 5 pumps, and was still running out of water. This setup seems more practical, if less badass looking. In all, the two turbines and 1 reactor setup would use 7 tesseracts? 3 on the reactor, one for water input, one for steam output, and one for water coming back from the turbine. (or can the water input and waste water return be on the same tesseract?) 2 on each turbine, one for input steam, and one for output waste water. When I do the initial fill of the turbine tanks, are they supposed to be turned on, or turned off, and do you do them one at a time or both at once?
  16. In this setup, do you have to use tesseracts or can you have everything linked only using liquiducts? Also, can these be set up vertically instead of horizontally?
  17. Quick question: Will my quarry and pumps still operate if i'm not logged in?
  18. Ok, I now have a plan of attack. I'll first create either dimensional anchors or chunk loaders so that my quarry production can continue while I go looking for and killing enderman (so I can start making tesseracts). Once I can make three tesseracts, I'll set up quarries further away from base and pumps in the nether to get lava. Then I'll convert from steam dynamos to magmatic dynamos (and upgrade from leadstone to redstone conduits) while overhauling my sorting system by converting from buildcraft pipes to TE itemducts. Once I get all that in place, I think I'll make a machine group that can make a piece of the galacticraft or maybe the power suit pieces (not sure right now, as that seems quite further along). Edit: Anyone see anything obviously wrong with this line of thought? If so, let me know before I get too involved. Thanks for the help, fellows.
  19. Awesome! So using a servo and an itemduct I can set each connection to only except or refuse items. How may items can be on the white/black list?
  20. Yes, the cobblestone pipe at the same exact spot would be missing when I went back. This happened at least four times before I moved my quarry to another location. I just assumed it was because it was too far away and was not loading. I will follow you're suggestion and use a Dimensional Anchor along the path of my piping in order to resolve this issue, as long as it isn't a bug. I haven't really started using itemducts/liquiducts as they were more expensive and because I'm not really familiar with them. I also don't know how to sort/filter using them. What's the best way to learn how to set up a filtering/sorting system using itemducts?
  21. I've hit a point where the area in the same loaded chunk as my base has been completely mined out and all useful liquids pumped out and stored in tanks. I tried to set up a new quarry further away but when I head back to my base the piping connected to my base is destroyed and it appears that the quarry just throws all the mined blocks onto the ground. The weird thing is the pipes that I use to send wood/coal to my stirling engines are always fine. I'm not really sure how to proceed. I looked up something called a chunk loader from chickenchunks. Is this something I need to build? I've got enough diamonds to either build tesseracts or teleport pipes. How would you guys suggest I expand my operations? Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated.
  22. I have to keep making sequencers because the recipie for timers doesn't seem to work. is the in-game help not current?
