  1. Is Open Blocks part of tekkit? I didn't think it was.
  2. Guys, I want to have a building that is showcasing all the different fluids that we are producing on my server, and was wondering what the best way to show them off would be. I was thinking of maybe a 5x5x5 box made of thickened glass with no top and a minefactory reloaded fountain pumping the liquid (except energized glowstone) so that it looks like the fluid is being stirred, and maybe several liquiduct ports to hook up portable tanks to each fluid, color coded ender tanks for each liquid, as well as powered fluid transposers for each liquid. Any other ideas on how to show off all the different liquids? Should I use banks of resonate portable tanks, or buildcraft tanks? are there any other cool looking ways to store liquids?
  3. Alternatively, you can directly attach your turbines to your reactor, or set up a tesseract network, with different frequencies for the water and steam.
  4. What do you guys think the next big update for Tekkit will be? Will this mod pack ever get pushed to an updated version of Minecraft? Will newer versions of the core mods he implemented? I'd like to hear your thoughts.
  5. I've started to have a filler the same size as the quarry above the quarry frame that is hooked up to a deep storage unit that is storing the gravel that the quarry is mining. When I see unwanted liquids I turn off the quarry, and turn on the filler until it is gone, then turn on the quarry again. It takes like no time to set up and I can fix all the oil/sludge/sewage issues with no labor
  6. Well, you have to admit an illuminated white floor is pretty dang awesome for a moon base.
  7. I used nothing but Inverted Lamps for my floors so that there was no way mobs could spawn on them. I think I used at least 15 full stacks of the lamps.
  8. Whenever I need to know what version of a mod is on the current build of tekkit I go here. http://wiki.technicpack.net/Tekkit
  9. Just the one, one huge reactor and 25 turbines. After I completed this project, dismantled the other 2 passive reactors I had been running to make the cyanite for the turbines. 600k rf/t is plenty for me right now.
  10. It wont simulate mine... only allows input for 1-30 on the sizes.
  11. So, for my 32x32x16 reactor I went with this. C = Cryotheum, R = Fuel Rod. I ended up with 144 fuel rods CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCRCRCRCRCRCRRCRCRCRCRCRCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC I only have 14 of my 25 turbines built and running at this point, but I will post numbers and screen shots when I have them all built and spun up. As it is now, I have over half of my fuel rods with their control rods at 100%. Last I checked I had fuel reactivity at around 510% to 520%
  12. That's why I mentioned at the bottom it must run on the current tekkit build, but I appreciate you clarifying.
  13. Any reason why you use resonant ender instead of cryothium?
  14. This is a contest dealing with ComputerCraft and Big Reactor automation. I'll go ahead and state what the prize is now so that anyone not interested can stop reading. The first person or team to show a fully automated actively cooled Big Reactors power station utilizing 25 turbines will be gifted a game of their choosing, up to but not exceeding, $60 USD (before tax) to their Steam account. If you are still reading you must be intrigued for more details. Using the 1.2.9e build of Tekkit, the system must include the following: 1. A status board that displays all 25 turbines with a possible of four (4) statuses - Online (turbine is active and at optimal range of RPM (give or take 25 RPM)) - green text Offline (turbine is inactive and at 0 RPM) - red text Spinning Up (turbine is active but below optimal RPM) - yellow text Spinning Down (turbine is inactive but has RPM > 0) - white text A count of Online turbines A count of Offline turbines 2. A status board of current operation that displays - The current amount of RF/t production The maximum amount of RF/t the system has generated The current % of energy stored in a bank of 64 Resonant Energy Cells The current % of control rod placement The current fertility of the reactor The current core temp The current casing heat The current mB/t of steam the reactor is producing The current % of coolant in the buffer tank 3. It must be able to do the following - Optimize control rod placement so that the reactor is creating steam at 2000 mB/t intervals (ideally there would be 25 steps - 0 through 2000, 2001 through 4000, and so on) Turn off turbines when a bank of 64 resonant energy cells is 95% full (take the current number of online turbines and inactivates one - Do nothing if a turbine is spinning down). Turn on turbines when a bank of 64 resonant energy cells is at 55% or below (take the current number of offline turbines and activates one - Do nothing if a turbine is spinning up). Read the number of active turbines and raise/lower control rods to match needed steam production (i.e 16 turbines are active so the reactor produces 32,000 mB/t steam). 4. Anything else that I can't think of that the contestant feels is needed or would be cool. Keep in mind this has to run on the current build of Tekkit! Contestants will be judged on the appearance of the display boards, how efficient the automation is, as well as other considerations. I will contact the winner and we will work out the receiving of the gifted game through Steam. Entries can either be screen shots or videos posted from youtube. Once the gift has been received, the winner will post all the code needed to run the system, as well as a rough count on the required pieces to create the system. Good luck to all entries!
  15. Well, I will start a creative world, test several configurations, and post my results sometime this week. In the mean time I will continue manufacturing coolant and storing up cyanite/enderium on the survival server for the rest of my turbine build requirements.
  16. So something like.... (M is for the moderator) CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCMCCCCCCMCCCCCCCMCCCCCCMCCCC CCMRMCCCCMRMCCCCCMRMCCCCMRMCCC CMRRRMCCMRRRMCCCMRRRMCCMRRRMCC CCMRMCCCCMRMCCCCCMRMCCCCMRMCCC CCCMCCCCCCMCCCCCCCMCCCCCCMCCCC I'm not sure what you mean by moderator blocks. Do they extend the length of the interior, or are they placed every other block for maximum coolant coverage? like if you are looking at the rod vertically: CCRCC CMRMC CCRCC CMRMC CCRCC CMRMC CCRCC CMRMC CCRCC CMRMC CCRCC CMRMC CCRCC CCRCC
  17. Ack! I've already started to put coolant into the reactor. I'll swap out the floodgate for a pump and store all the coolant I have and then redo the configuration: Which way is better? CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC CRRRCRRRCRRRCRRR CCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCR CCCRRRCRRRCRRRCRRR CCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRC CRRRCRRRCRRRCRRR CCRCRCRCCCRCRCRC or CCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC CRRRCRRRCRRRCRRR CCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC CRRRCRRRCRRRCRRR CCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC or CCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC CRRRCRRRCRRRCRRR CCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC CCCCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC CCCRRRCRRRCRRRCRRR CCCCRCCCRCCCRCCCRC
  18. Guys, I'm building a reactor that is 32x32x16 high, with fuel rods in a checkerboard configuration (no rods touching the outer casing), using Gelid Cryotheum as the coolant with 20 turbines (5 on each vertical face) directly attached to the reactor. Do you guys think the reactor is going to be able to produce enough steam to power all these turbines? Am I using too many fuel rods?
  19. nevermind. it must have been this latest launcher push that had the page down while they were transitioning. Now I can't get tekkit to let me play. it loads, but then when i try to connect to a server it crashes. edit.... ok... Now i cant even get there... Now instead of a play button there is an install button, but when I click it i get this.
  20. I actually suggested this to the modder and he said that was a good idea and could possibly work that into his next major release if everything else he wanted to include was done.
  21. Curunir, You sir, are a wealth of information and handy tips. I've been playing on tekkit servers for a while and didn't even know flood gates existed. Filling up reactors was the one and only limiting factor preventing me from making more. Now that I know that I can use one of those, I plan on making a new actively cooled power station. I'm thinking of a large reactor with two tall turbines on each vertical face. Before I do that I think I will make a factory that will auto craft all the separate components that I will need. I'll put off going to the moon while I work on this new project.
