  1. I'd kill Norton - it's probably playing havoc with your downloads. I don't mean disable it, either. There are other, better, free AVs you could use. Then I'd try a wipe and reinstall - you're getting a block ID error when you shouldn't be.
  2. Try going into the launcher config file (I forget the name) and manually setting the memory allocation to, say, 4096, then restarting the launcher and not clicking options.
  3. This error is usually Java screwing with you. Do you have Java 6 or 7? You don't say. If updating Java (and removing the old ones) doesn't work, post a launcher log.
  4. Redstone engines will barely start a quarry, and you need more than 1-2 steam engines to get it moving at any decent speed. I'm guessing it's either in a protected area (WorldGuard or whatever) or the [buildcraft] fake player isn't OP.
  5. Assuming you set it up like a normal server, yes.
  6. Not really, and troubleshooting works better if you're actually running the program on the computer that's going to be running it for the duration.
  7. You didn't just update Java, you also updated the client. Go back to the Recommended build (3.0.3). Delete your Tekkit client and reinstall if the downgrade doesn't work.
  8. The list of questions that could be encompassed by this post is...long. You could start with the wikis here, or try just playing the mod pack. Find an IndustrialCraft2 guide and set up a small machine shop. Find a BuildCraft guide and set up a pipe system. Combine the two. Find a RedPower guide and set up a tube system and some basic red alloy systems. See also this thread for some technical (i.e. software) guides, see this thread for more common issues with the launcher and packs, and see this thread for a bit on how to post on these forums.
  9. How much RAM does your computer have? I hope you're not trying to run the client on the same machine. Without knowing more, I'd start with 512M on the -Xms tag and 1536M on the -Xmx tag.
  10. You want to open/run the batch file, not right-click > Open with Java. That clearly didn't work.
  11. Hmmm. A pinned thread in the Bug Board. Interesting...
  12. You need 3.0.3 for the client. The server version is 3.0.4. Client versions 3.0.5 (wasn't aware that existed) and 3.1.0 are dev builds. Either pick "Always Use Recommended Build" or "Manual Build Selection" and go back to 3.0.3. You may need to delete your .techniclauncher\tekkit folder (back up your waypoints if you want) if the downgrade doesn't work.
  13. NEI is giving you items. You shouldn't need to click five times to do that though.
  14. So you tried to run that batch file? Have you tried adding the Java bin directory to your system path variable?
  15. The server runs wherever you put the server launcher and tekkit.jar. There's a thread here on how to run the launcher from an alternate location.
  16. Zeppelin is single-player only.
  17. *Runs out of patience* You're still using Java 6, at least if this log is new. I'm done here. Somebody else can take over if they feel like holding your hand through every tiny action.
  18. Huh? At least the thread title was funny.
  19. That's because you're trying to use code tags. Note where I said to use pastebin. Edit: And then you try to run HSM? Either post the whole log to pastebin so we can at least look at it, or go get a new support group.
  20. We don't really want your server IP. There's a board for that.
  21. If it's a personal or small server and you trust everyone on your whitelist (you have a whitelist, right?) not to grief with Buildcraft stuff, use "/op [buildcraft]" in the in-game console to allow Buildcraft to break blocks. Otherwise, gets a permissions plugin to work with the Buildcraft fake player.
  22. Okay, take the whole launcher_0.log and stick it on pastebin. You say you're doing stuff, but you're not posting with enough information to say what exactly you're doing.
  23. Grab the server files for Tekkit, pull the launch.bat out of it, rename the .jar in that batch file, and change the amount of memory it uses if you want. You can rename the launch.bat too if you like.
  24. Then post a launcher log. Something's not installed correctly.
  25. Then there's you problem. The launcher is probably still finding Java 6. Either remove it, or redirect the launcher (removing Java 6 is easier).
