  1. This might be the issue. Do you have the 32- or 64-bit version of Windows 7? 32-bit Java doesn't agree with 64-bit Windows. As for the "can't find Java directory" thing, you should add Java to your system path variable. There's a good tutorial on how to do that if you Google "Java system path variable".
  2. Remove all versions of Java. Install Java 7u5 or 7u6 (I just noticed that a new one was out). Reboot. Voila!
  3. All mods that would normally go into minecraft.jar now go into modpack.jar - this is known. I'd be careful about report feature abuse. This was borderline.
  4. 1) This is the wrong section. This is the place to ask for mods to be created, or for help in doing so yourself. There is no place to suggest additions to Tekkit, for a few very good reasons (trust me). 2) Treecapitator, last I checked (which admittedly was quite a while ago), isn't Bukkit-ported. 3) There are several nice plugins that do almost exactly the same thing. Try ChopTree2. It's even easy to install and configure. On that note, I'm locking this thread.
  5. Why use BC pipes? Tubes are so much better at this type of thing. Just remember to put the cobble in the top, and pull scrap out a side.
  6. The 'u' key is for where the item is used.
  7. @Davidz1000: You should have noticed that he's playing single-player. That means no server. @burn3h: Did you update your version of Tekkit just before this? If so, your world may have received a massive block ID change, and you pretty much need to start a new one. You could just give yourself the materials to rebuild. If you really want to fix it and you're convinced it would take less time overall, a block ID changer like Midas might work, but you're on your own as far as learning how to use it.
  8. OP: Is your computer using a 64-bit OS? You don't say. 64-bit memory management is pretty much a requirement to run both a server and client on the same system. Ignore David...he doesn't seem to know what he's talking about, except for possibly dropping the RAM allocation, which is what he's telling you to do. It has nothing to do with bit version.
  9. Crystal Chests are also massive lag generators, and I advise people to switch to Diamond Chests whenever I know they're using them.
  10. This is Tekkit...there's no TC2 in the mod pack. OP: What's in the chunk out of the ordinary, if anything?
  11. There is currently no dev build of Tekkit - 3.1.2 is both the latest and recommended build. OP: What are you using for an antivirus program?
  12. It could be an antivirus or firewall, if no mods are showing up. What are you using?
  13. This generally means your inventory is corrupted, and you need to delete your player.dat file on the server. That means your inventory and location will be cleared as well, but at least you'll be able to play...
  14. Chunks reset/rearranged usually mean the server had a power failure and the world is corrupted. You could start a new one and MCEdit over your ship. That looks like a lot of work went into it.
  15. Oh, and a Ring of Arcana, Mercurial Eye, Alchemical Tome for your portable tablet, a couple extra charged Klein Omegas for fuel, Archangel's Smite...now you're a god.
  16. You...don't really know how networking works, do you?
  17. You most likely tried to install over an older version. Please completely remove your .techniclauncher\tekkit folder and reinstall. Back up any SSP saves or waypoints you may want to keep.
  18. You could just move the LV transformer you already have from one side of the MFE to the other. It can accept medium voltage (the MFE).
  19. You somehow mistakenly installed the 32-bit version of Java. Remove it, and go get the 64-bit (Offline just means downloading before install) version here.
  20. Are you looking for hidden files? If you can run the mod packs, the files must be there. Open Windows Explorer/My Computer, push Alt if the menu bar isn't there, go to Tools > Options, click the View tab, change the radio button (5 or 6 items down on the list) to Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives. Then go to C:\Users in the same My Computer window and see if there's anything new there, like Default.
  21. If your user's .techniclauncher folder is empty, and always has been, some other user's .techniclauncher folder has your Technic files in it. Go find those.
  22. Don't lock it in cheat mode. OPs get cheat mode anyway. NEI config on the client can override the server config if it's set up incorrectly.
  23. Thimerit: Update your Java to 7u5 (make sure you get 64-bit, and delete the old one). Delete your player.dat file from the server folder. You'll need to replace your inventory with NEI, and you'll start back at the spawn with no experience. abc9939: You have massive lag issues, probably a pipe leak or large group of machinery doing something funny. I'd post your own bug report to make it easier to isolate. Cydron: Do you think I stare at the forums all day, waiting for people to help? You have another think coming. Post your own bug report, or follow the advice given to other people. gerometokic: You have a different problem, if you can't connect to any server. Post a launcher log, not a Java error log, to see if there's something in there. You may need your own bug report thread. Gamestorm_and_Pollzy: see gerometokic's answer. Tip to all of you: Your problems may share similarities in appearance. That doesn't mean they're the same problem.
  24. Are you certain your server is running on Java 7u5, 64-bit? That's the cause of a very large portion of this exact error, as you would know if you'd used the search bar a little bit before posting this.

    error

You have duplicate mod files installed. This is usually caused by an incomplete update. Either remove and reinstall your tekkit folder, or go into the tekkit\mods folder and delete the older version of any mods that have the exact same name otherwise.
