  1. Ports must also be Forge version-compatible, which I'm fairly sure the BC3 SMP port isn't.
  2. Wow, I was about to go through this thread and just start kellering people, when I realized it was a horribly bad necro. So, I'll just keller the last two people. Shame, I was looking forward to the flames. :(
  3. Nope. Batboxes are energy storage, while generators are energy production. You'll still lose quite a bit of efficiency if you drop a stack of coal into a generator and let it run, after the bat box finishes filling its measly storage capacity. 10 coal in a generator (4000 EU per) will fill a batbox. If you don't have multiple batboxes, you'll waste any extra EU generated from coal burned. The generator will start burning a new piece of coal as soon as energy is needed. It's like a normal furnace that way. Use an MFE to store up to 600,000 EU (15 times that of a bat box), or 150 pieces of coal worth. Just don't forget to transform that current down out of the MFE if you don't want to blow up your machines.
  4. Then try again, making more effort to follow the guidelines, and providing other information, in a well-formatted post. A wall of text or bulleted lists with a couple section titles in the same font, an IP, and a picture or two may not get approved. Some of the moderators are pickier than others, but all of them want to see the server sections remain high-quality when possible.
  5. Links to server posts are fine. Quick & dirty server ads in a thread in General Tekkit SMP are not. We have a moderation queue for the server sections for a reason.
  6. It's just one sticky, really. It's the server posting guidelines at the top of both server sections. So, you need basic server information and a picture or two, in a well-formatted post. if you fail in any of those 3 items, your post gets deleted. If you fail spectacularly and repeatedly, you get warned. If you continue to fail spectacularly and repeatedly, consequences scale up from there.
  7. There are server sections on the forum for this type of thing. Please don't try to skip the server post moderation process, unintentionally or otherwise.
  8. You're more than welcome to install Forestry yourself, or to find a server that has it installed. As for Thaumcraft/TC2, it is not and has never been SMP-compatible, so you couldn't miss playing it on a server.
  9. Rule of thumb: there are always 3 strongholds spawned, at 120° angles from either 0,0 or the spawn point, I can't remember (probably 0,0). Move around 0,0 far enough from the stronghold you found, and start using Eyes again.
  10. This is not how you advertise an available server. There are sections on the board for that.
  11. This seems like an ISP issue, not a Tekkit issue. I would suggest first contacting them. If and when you determine that it's not an ISP issue, and come back to ask for help, please post in the correct section.
  12. Sidebar, mentioned just a few times on this board, but may be hard to find with the search bar. NVidia cards don't deem Java a worthwhile application for their mighty video cards to accelerate by default. Do this: NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Program Settings tab > select Java.exe under the first drop-down, select the High-performance NVIDIA processor under the 2nd. Ta da!
  13. There isn't. I posted it in the moderators' section of the board. We'll see what kind of response I get. Sadly, it might be a non-starter just because people ignore all the stickies, so they're likely to ignore the little red number on their Inbox as well. Again, we shall see.
  14. Already answered in one of your two Technic SSP posts.

You're trying to use Hack/Mine on a Tekkit server, or at least that's what it looks like to me. Make sure you have the right mod pack selected.
  16. What are you trying to open it with? 7zip or WinRAR should open it just fine, but you need to use 'Open Archive', at least with 7zip. If you try to just open it, most of the time it'll try to run with Java, which doesn't work very well.
  17. The .jar is an archive that happens to be able to be run by Java. If you have WinRAR, it may have associated itself with .jar files. Try right-clicking the "compressed folder" and clicking Run with Java. It's either that, or you downloaded it with Internet Explorer. Don't do that. :)
  18. I have actually seen situation where AVG will allow the download while it's disabled, but screw it up somehow so the launcher/mod packs won't run correctly. Then, when AVG is uninstalled completely, and the mod pack(s) in question reinstalled with it gone, they work fine. I would follow bossgx700's advice. I'm not saying that's guaranteed to be the problem, but it's a good place to start.
  19. Your error log...is the most important part of your bug report. Use pastebin.org if it doesn't fit in the code tags.

1.3.2 is very outdated. If you meant 3.1.2, you're going to have to be more specific with your problem, as that shouldn't have any issues interacting with a Tekkit 3.1.2 client.
  21. More specifically, I'd add Java, the launcher, and Minecraft, just to be sure.
  22. Ooh, shiny! I'll drop it in the suggestion box.
  23. OP: Did you, out of curiosity, read the COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS thread before posting here? If you had, you should have read that AVG is very often responsible for causing the launcher to fail to run and/or fail to download correctly. Also, please realize that moderators are not here to play tech support. They're here to make a reasonable effort at making sure the rules are followed. There are a minimum of 30-40 new threads a day, the vast majority of which wouldn't have to be here. Try disabling your antivirus while running the launcher. If that doesn't work, remove it entirely. It's not the best one out there any more anyway.
  24. OS: Java. What exactly are you trying to run Minecraft on?
