  1. Two spaces in that bar will clear the entire thing. The only other way that happens is if all the subsets (top bar) are unselected.
  2. Your launcher log disagrees with you. It's likely that, in addition to your multiple AV programs, you have multiple copies of Java. What does your Control Panel say? Oh, and learn to use the Edit button if you want to add something to your posts.
  3. I'm going to guess it has something to do with this: "24.08 21:20:52 [server] SEVERE java.io.IOException: Disk quota exceeded" You mostly like need to speak with your hosting service.
  4. Try using RedPower tubes instead. Pipes are finicky when it comes to chunks loaded by a non-player block.
  5. Technic, most definitely, for single player. You can disable the ones you don't want, and I very much like TC2.
  6. All of the above. This thread will disappear in...well, the time it takes me to hit the spam cleaner. Or...maybe I should leave it up for posterity. There have been 3 or 4 of these at least already, so I suspect someone has a method of getting through the site's automatic account-checking. Edit: I've seen a few of these already, so I asked what, if anything, we could do about them. In the meantime, clicking on strange links is almost never a good idea.
  7. I also would have sprung for an I7 given an option, but otherwise it looks like a solid build. You probably could have gotten a little bit more for your money in the RAM, HDD, and video card departments, and the mainboard does look like a little bit of overkill for the system. On the other hand, it is certainly upgrade-capable, unlike most of the cheaper ones. Lately I've been a bit more under a budget, so I'll put together a computer over 2-3 months as Newegg gets stuff on special. That's a lot easier near mid-summer and the holiday season, as their sales pick up and the deals get easier to find.
  8. Yes, and you're being unnecessarily derisive. He actually found a thread in which you made fun of him for being an idiot, and apologized. I would say that puts him in a better light, and I'm sure he will try to avoid putting things in the wrong place in the future. But his thread had a somewhat legitimate question, and you called him an idiot, apparently without reading it. Try to be a little nicer, hmmm?
  9. The point of quantum entanglement is that it's not governed by the speed of light. And yes, you would have to transport entangled particles, unless you could somehow figure out how to entangle particles at a distance, in which case, teleporter, anyone? But you are correct, there's currently no framework for FTL Comms because at the moment we don't need them. There are no places we need to communicate with that aren't closer than a couple of light-seconds, unless we have a manned mission to Mars in the near future, or Curiosity needs real-time command transmission. Of course, single-particle entanglement means sending text would be rather slow - video, well...
  10. Mods don't see every topic or read every post, so this request is...maybe not useful. You don't really need to continue the discussion at this point, unless it's to feed an ego. You can see how he might have thought you believed that, though? Either way this conversation turns, it's hostility we don't really need here. Be respectful to each other, or cut it out. And yeah, meme-posting's against the rules.
  11. To be a zombie thread, it has to have died. In my opinion, a 2-week-old thread could still be clinging to life. That's why no one got warnings for necromancy - because interesting stuff is being added to the conversation.
  12. I recommend ignoring the OP in this thread. He's living up to his name.
  13. Go with a Java reinstall then. You'll want 7u5 or 7u6. Make sure you get the bit-version-appropriate one, which in your case is 32-bit, I believe.
  14. Tekkit has 40+ mods. Some of them are just additions to others, parts of others, or minor mods that are for one small, specific thing, such as the Charging Bench. On-topic-ish: I would consider myself about a 5 for server management - I know how to set one up and run one, but permissions configuration and the more complex crap is out of my area. It may be a 6-7 for mod use, as I have quite a good grasp on EE, IC2, and BC, and I'm in the process of learning how to use RedPower. I know next to nothing about Railcraft, but it can't be that hard, right?
  15. This is how I understand it. The cheatmode line sets or shows (sets if you edit the file directly, shows if you edited it in game) whether cheat mode is enabled. Lockmode works like this: -1 is off, 0 is recipe mode, 1 is utility mode (with utility_actions defined) with recipes enabled, 2 is cheat mode, though you can still look at recipes. If lockmode is anything other than -1, you can't change it in game. If lockmode is not 2, it doesn't matter whether cheatmode is 0 or 1 - it won't work in game. Note that I haven't tested any of this.
  16. Just double-click on it. I suppose you could use a command line, but that's not necessary.
  17. You installed with the new launcher, or just downloaded the new launcher and ran it? There's a difference there.
  18. Either way...it's not like this is commercial/consumer competition, so the only possible results will be positive in one way or another, as far as I can tell.
  19. Removed. Since link's quote was second, I thought it was a sidelong way of saying he would be enjoying one shortly.
  20. Offline/capable of handling a cracked client. I think your 80% number is off. I use Hamachi because my apartment internet is difficult to route around, and it presents a decent solution to the problem. The Hamachi server is always online, also, so I don't have to worry about my router dying while I'm not at home to reset/configure it.
  21. With teleport tethers, F9 should display a chunk grid, with the loaded chunks surrounded in red with a blue box inside them, I think.
  22. Okay. I recommend a new launcher anyway, as there have been some updates that didn't get version number revs, mostly to deal with the MC 1.3 update. You may also want to delete your .techniclauncher\tekkit folder and reinstall. Make backups of everything, of course.
  23. Yes, joking. Since you would be using entangled particles, with matching states, any system based on quantum entanglement would be built for binary code. The advantage there is that you wouldn't have to mess with that little tap key.
  24. Your computer got "fixed" - how was it fixed? Was the OS reinstalled? This seems like it might be a network configuration or driver issue, but there are a lot smarter people here than me when it comes to this stuff. The first thing I'd look at is network drivers, though, or (as is usually the case at this point) mainboard control software, since the network adapters tend to be integrated.
  25. Assuming quantum entanglement is a possible method of FTL communications, there's at least a decent chance that we will have FTL comms in the next couple of decades. They just might be slow for data transfer, and we'll have to go back to Morse code or something. :)
