If you can log in, it's putting the files somewhere. That somewhere is usually wherever your Tekkit.jar is located, but it may be where your launch.bat is located if they're in different places. A server can't run without a properties file, among other things. Do the mods work?
-
The only way this happens is that your player.dat file on the server gets deleted, or you were playing in offline mode and switched to online, or vice versa.

This is a "normal" block ID error, and is usually caused by a botched update. If it starts like this from a clean install, you may need to do some work on the mod files. Since you have Linux as an OS, and it's case-sensitive for file loading, unlike Windows, I suspect mod loading order may be causing your problems. Try renaming each of the mod files that doesn't start with a capital letter so it does. I also have no idea how MCMyAdmin might be affecting the server, so you'll want to speak with your host about that.

Mac- No longer allowing others to join server
Torezu replied to GelasticSnails's question in Tekkit Classic
Be very specific as to anything that might have changed. There are so many possible causes for this it's not funny, from bandwidth limits to whitelists to IP changes at the local or ISP level. -
Need good builders! (For a spawn and staff!)

There's a Small Scale Recruitment thread at the top of the section, if you're looking for only a few people. Otherwise, post a decent server thread in one of the server sections. This isn't the place for recruiting, except that one thread. It clutters up the board. -
Try a bug report, in the right section, with all the attendant information, including a launcher log and, if you can get it, a server log.

So, you missed the Scribble Parlour, and in particular this thread (and others like it)?

Slowpoke (Feed the Beast creator) on the Technic pack
Torezu replied to killerx09's topic in The Whale Box
Quoted the entire paragraph, since I couldn't find anything meaningless in it to remove. As the latest mod, I share the same opinion, and the points SimpleGuy is making are well-spoken, particularly the bolded parts. -
I've seen issues on my personal server when there are too many BuildCraft objects running, but that should mean a new world works fine. Do you have rapid-fire timers hooked up to them or something? What's the setup, in other words?
-
Have you set your video card to actually be used (as opposed to the integrated graphics chipset) for Java and the Technic launcher? This will usually be in your graphics control panel.

There's a Small Scale Recruitment thread at the top of the section. Please use that, for both recruiting and being recruited.

Looking For someone to play tekkit with
Torezu replied to jackquinn88's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
There's a thread for this, at the top of the section. Otherwise, there's a recruitment thread in the LP section, or you could put up an actual server post. Stop cluttering up the forum. -
Seriously? There's a thread for this, at the top of the section. Use it.

There are exceptions to this. IC2 generators (base-gens only) can be picked up with a pickaxe, last I checked. The same goes for batboxes and LV transformers, since there is no lower-level item.

Not downloading and launcher stopping at 0-7 percent.
Torezu replied to FyreFlyght's question in Technic Launcher
Disable AVG completely while the launcher runs. It's entirely possible you don't have enough RAM left to run the launcher/Technic/Tekkit successfully, though. -
Reprioritizing Java somehow is supposed to fix this. That's all I know - I don't own a Mac. Try the search bar.

Technic pack stuck on the splash loadout? Where it says Technic pack.
Torezu replied to Bolt732's question in Technic Launcher
Friendly tip: That quick flash of black command-prompt screen usually means the launcher can't find your Java directory for whatever reason. Try adding Java to your system path variable if it's not already there. Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced tab > Environment variables... > Click on Path and then Edit... > add exactly this to the end of the Variable value (without the quotes): ";C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin" -
I'm assuming you made sure your volume is not on zero. The sound files from .minecraft\resources should be able to be copied into .techniclauncher\[modpack]\resources, but if that doesn't work, a reinstall of the mod pack in question may be in order.

If you migrated your account, you may need to use your email instead of your user name. Also, you don't need to add another post right after the bug report. The bug report itself is a request for ideas or help.

Tekkit Crashes when opening a Multi-Player server
Torezu replied to PYR0's question in Technic Launcher
On occasion, for whatever reason, BuildCraft tanks will crash clients that try to render them. I suggest asking a server admin to remove the tanks and pipes in your general vicinity, and politely requesting that they be returned to you when you log back on. -
im having problems on launching the tekkit for windos
Torezu replied to seth's question in Technic Launcher
Your bug report has disturbingly little information in it. Did you try reinstalling Java as the Common Problems and Solutions thread suggested? -
Hmmmm...I'd update Java, as yours is outdated. If that doesn't fix it by itself, grab a new version of the launcher and try with that.
-
It's in .techniclauncher\logs, and should be called launcher_0.log - stick it in pastebin and toss a link up in here.

- Your existing map should be fine, but as DELTALON mentioned, there will be no: volcanoes, marble, copper/tin/silver/uranium/nikolite/etc ore, oil wells, and so on in pre-existing chunks. You'll have to explore new areas to get these things to generate. - Existing plugins should work, but the configs will have to be heavily modified to support the new items/blocks. - Offline mode is typically used to support servers that allow people with cracked launchers to join. We do not condone nor support piracy here, so do not expect support for this feature, and don't post a server ad mentioning it. As far as other things you should know, do a bit of research into what each mod is capable of before making the switch. There are some mods and/or items, like Equivalent Exchange, that are considered to make many of the other mods near-obsolete. There are also some items in other mods (and EE), like nukes, that can do an awful lot of damage very quickly and are typically banned from servers (using plugins) for that reason.
