  1. You're asking for an ETA by a different method. Don't. Let the next version of Tekkit be a nice surprise if it comes. You can assure him of no such thing. There's a high probability, but assurances on the future are just so much empty prophecy. For all we know, the Minecraft modding community could collapse under the weight of Mojang's stupidity.
  2. Post a bug report with your own problems, or go looking for a similar issue.
  3. Get rid of AVG, and get a new launcher.
  4. You've provided no information, not even a picture, other than "it says it has stopped working." Do you expect people to read your mind or something?
  5. Okay. Ignore the guy before me. As shown by his extensive knowledge of how overheating computers should not be handled, he probably shouldn't be trusted to touch the things. Anyway, try the solution described in this thread. I had to go digging a ways back to find it.

    cant play

But...people don't do that around here! Do they?
  7. This is not the same error. His won't start. Your world generator isn't working. How are they even close to the same?
  8. Make a batch file to run the .jar with Java. If you don't know how to do that, there's one in the server files you can edit to use the correct file name.
  9. Disable McAfee long enough to finish the download and install.
  10. Back up your waypoints, completely delete your tekkit folder, get a new launcher, and reinstall. You have an old version cluttering up your directory.
  11. Which is it, the servers or the launcher? You can't get to the server screen without running the launcher. Anyway, install the .NET Framework.
  12. Got a firewall running? If not, try the .jar version of the launcher instead.
  13. It's not really necessary in this case, though. *Pulls number out of...the air! Yes!* 97.6% of bug reports that have "AVG" in the antivirus program box are caused by...AVG.
  14. Also, some discoveries in Lost Knowledge require you to research non-standard items and go straight from item to theory...

    Mods Load's

    Technic has more mods.
  16. Aaaand...that's the end of that thread. It wasn't breaking any records for funny anyway.
  17. Then remove Java 6, install Java 7u5, 64-bit of course, and get rid of McAfee. The thing's a resource hog.
  18. Your reading comprehension is slipping again. Though he's not specific, consider the possibility that he's not dumb, and he's talking about the map download.
  19. Did you reboot after installing the new one? Java should be in the system path variable.
  20. I would just delete the whole thing, and move stuff back over when you're done, if you're not sure what should be left. You made that full backup, right? The stuff to move back over would be server.properties, the player.dat files, and the files in the data folder for alchemy bags and trans tables.
  21. Power loops are EU feeding back, usually through a cable loop, into the originating block. Java doesn't like doing path calculations on those, for some reason. Got a server log?
  22. You skipped a line in the form. You shouldn't do that.
  23. That depends almost entirely on how complex your server install is. If you just dropped the base Tekkit server into the folder and ran it, all you should really need to do is make a backup (of the entire server folder), delete all the mod and config files, drop the new server files in, and run it. Make sure you don't overwrite server.properties, and that your new world folder matches the old one for name, and you should be good to go. You'll need to make sure your client will let you log in, of course, but that's another topic.
  24. Do you have an EU power loop going on anywhere? Pictures might help.
  25. Your version of Java is...obsolete. Go get a new one. Make sure you get rid of all the old ones when you install it.
