  1. had fun, but it waned quickly. for an adventuring modpack it lacks suitable rewards for your adventures. which leaves you to adventure for the sake of adventuring. denying myself features only slows down the process. such as no chocobos, no disenchanting, no enchanting, no rapier, no hookshoots, no cloud boots, no digging into dungeons. a lot of stuff is definitely not worthwhile, or has niche usage. to date the most challenging foe was an orange infernal tower golem with sticky that somehow ate my weapons and never gave them back. no flying is pretty much key, as it trivializes everything in twilight forest and battle towers. also the whole breeding system for a slightly faster chocobo doesn't make up for the ease and defensive capabilities of a purple chocobo.
  2. Soulsteal is the enchant you want. Soul Stealer is from Soul Shards mod.
  3. tried it several ways. creative mode, and it sounds like the admin likes giving his buddies weapons.
  4. if you need a blood farm just get a tier 5 zombie soul shard spawner, easy to fill up with the amount of spawners in the world or for a little more effort a pig soul shard for blood+porkchops.
  5. installing cube world and uninstalling hexxit seemed to fix everything for me
  6. oh and, i can't get cold touch to work. it works fine when it comes on frezarite pieces, but putting it on the legendary sets is a no go, same with cloud boots.
  7. reading is bibliocraft, supposed to be able to see labels pop on bibliocraft blocks i think. blood/soul attuned work like the sets i think and prevent negative effects from consuming. vitality is 5/10/15/20% Chance on Health damage to be converted to Hunger damage exude is a chance to reduce the damage from wither/poison per tick.

  9. when i try making it into a gilded shield the crafting result is a diamond giant sword. it even retains shield enchants.
  10. perhaps this is common knowledge by now but this is the only topic i've seen via google search. nifty thing i learned about tinker's construct is you can add more quartz to a weapon at the cost of a mod slot. all the other weapons seem to have a damage range whereas TC weapons are consistent damage. a 5 mod slot manyulyn broadsword was doing 20 damage to zombie and 22 damage to everything else. the rapier is obviously better vs armored mobs/walker king piercing quickly for 16 dmg. according to the post on asgard zed swords (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1432828-asgard-shield-sword-n-board-action-added-knockback-enchant-support-v204-upd-may-26/) diamond does 3.5 hearts while ender only does 3 hearts and has 5% less passive armor bonus, less durability as well. if you want to give up damage on the rapier it'll still do more than other weapons that don't pierce armor in favor of luck or other modifiers. all around the giant swords are still better due to utility enchants being superior to TC options. TC wins DPS. if disenchanting is changed or becomes unavailable then TC may be more attractive. legia bow or handgun is the obvious choice for ranged. holy hand grenades are also pretty nice but expensive.

  12. even if you turn down your settings hexxit just seems to bog down for some reason or another and you have to restart or it stops responding and you do that anyway. the black screen is a problem i've encountered 4 times on my server. haven't really found out why or a way to fix it but destroying the blocks they're standing on has worked on two occasions. i randomly tried ssp and was able to log on smp after several failures (reinstalling java/launcher/hexxit, changing memory capacities)
