Compared to 2 years ago, Technic seems dead
inittowinitall replied to inittowinitall's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Cant help it, the thread was deleted. All I remembered was that it was an official thread and the winner had this belt picture posted above their name. There were only 2 or 3 showdaowns that I remember ever seeing or being posted. -
Compared to 2 years ago, Technic seems dead

The celebs I have mentioned were moderators, modders, and general Technic team members (IceWolf, SimpleGuy, Ragnar, Jakj to name a few) who made it a must to go to the forums daily for a good laugh or some cool new conversation. As you can see by my number of posts, I did not join in on these, but I did enjoy reading them. The whale box was full of those stupid posts that always ended with a mod or admin locking it down and finishing it with a get bent. Now it seems like the only active post is kitty jail, and instead of interesting topics popping up every day, people just post in there. The nostalgia of the good ol days (what i consider as 2012 for this forum) is what drove me to post this, and that is why I made the original post. Lastly, what ever became of that one argument thread(I forgot what it was called)? Are the kitty jail and Hellen Keller and Stupid Newbie tags still around? And is BigDig ever going to update, or can I give up hope on that doing so? -
I have not been on the technic forums for over a year, but today I desided to come and check them out again. I see only 3 active posts per forum and barely any activity in the off topic. WHAT HAS HAPPENED!?! Kaker has not posted in a while, neither has Cheapshot, and it seems like most of the celebs have moved to FTB. Also, it seems like hardly anything new is going on packwise. All this leaves me a little depressed at what the glory of technic has become. I never hear anything anymore on the evilness of technic. I don't think Sir Sengir or FC even remember you all for how deserted this is. I mean, where are is all the "hate speech" that used to go on here. Now all that seemes to be left are people whining, "Join my server!" or, "Why is this so buggy?" And finally, why is kittyjail still alive? That post is older than most anything else on the forums. If any of you can briefly catch me up to speed, that would be nice.

I have discovered the error in my ways. I realized that I needed to run bigdig.jar and not minecraft_server.jar.

Hello. I am creating a new Big Dig server for my friends and I to play on, but when I create a new world, there is no world gen at all. Tree cap does not work either although rei 's minimap and NEI work perfectly. NEI even has all the mod recipes. Any help would be appreciated.

Big Dig for 1.5.2, Bug-Hunting thread!
inittowinitall replied to TheForestHermit's topic in Big Dig Discussion
I am having issues where I fall through the world, into the void without taking void related damage. This happens for minutes until I end the session. When I re-enter, everything is like normal. -
My advice: If you want to not worry all too much, then don't check out the wikepedia article. Contrary to popular believe, getting bit by a spider will result in agonizing pain without the highly coveted super powers.

He is educated, but ignorant. That is why he has viruses. Stuff never comes free in anyone's mind but his. -

Thank you so much. I will use this info for the betterment of me and my brother. Chances are a virus chose an already downloaded Technic as a host and started using it to send info to a website everytime Technic is used. I did my research on the spout launcher and saw that most virus related issues were caused by a virus choosing an already downloaded spout program. I know I could have made this thread a lot shorter if I had all of my information beforehand. And again MANY thanks to you, Jay?, for solving my, then my brother's problem. -

My brother installs shit. tons and tons and tons of shit. And my father claims to see that Technic is redirecting to a sight the he "knows" to be an id theft sight. He, my father, is an internet security sales/ fix this thing now guy so he has plenty of credibility. My brother, not thinking, also has no accessible reports. HIS AV MSE is most likely infected and is not giving reports and he closed and deleted his history. Chances are his computer will be wiped. So let me get this straight. Technic does not contain viruses; Norton hates Technic; Computercraft screws with AVs if we hack another computercraft computer; and the sprout launcher may be susceptible to viruses which then redirect personal info to online sights? -

No. I only trust Mcaffee or MSE. I know I have Google Redirect (a pain in the glutimus maximus), but I don't think it is affecting my AV other than eluding it. Also, my father has caught sight of my brother's Technic redirecting to a "id stealing" site. I think this is what he meant when he said my Technic was infected with id malware. He then said he used MSE and found "something" and might have automatically blamed Technic for having id malware. When I went around and used MSE and Mcaffee, I did not see anything. For the sake of keeping my posts as short as possible, in all of the above I just combined my father and I to "me". I hope this is not too confusing. EDIT: Just found out this is not on my computer but my brothers. My father was being deceitful in telling me it was mine. This explains why my antivirus did not catch anything. I know I've just thrown $#!+ into a blender told you it was a gourmet dish only to find out it was not. And I am sorry for wasting your time due to confusion on my end that I should have had sorted out prior. Although, all of the above I said about mine still applies to my brother. I cannot check because he deleted Technic off his computer like a good little boy who listens to his dad. Still, Different computer, same issue. *PHEW* that was a lot. -

A great confusion stirs around in me. It was telling me it was malicious and now its not. It is being rather inconsistent right now. The other antivirus, Mcafee saw nothing. Skimming through the source yielded nothing unusual, too. I think Technic is not the problem now, but it is still a possibility. Also, I have not done any computercraft hacking, which I don't know what that is. -

Jay? I began my post before yours so I didn't see yours. MSE identified it as a risk and I did look around. I'll run another check via it and another antivirus. I hope this was one of microsofts snafus. Well, hi hoe a merry O' a digging I will go. -

I know that it redirectes all of its info to the minecraft servers but I cannot be sure that it doesn't leak out important info elsewhere. I'm faced with the unknown and not sure how to deal with it at this moment. Who is to trust? Microsoft or the community? Also I meant the pinnacle compilation of minecraft mods, but that's a minor detail. -
Yesterday, I did a full scan on my computer and it said the technic pack contains id theft malware. Should I trust Technic or not? If so , this would be a sad depart from one of the great pinnacles of minecraft modding.

Well that takes a big ego to do. I wonder who this company thinks it is? Why then? He still has a shot in 2012.

I was hoping it was satirical and not factual, but I have experienced the real people who do this stuff and that seemed pretty serious. Maybe I should just take all of these as jokes from now on. hoho It should be encouraged to think about the Bible in critical fashion. It helps prevent people making blind assumptions about what the Bible says.

No wonder why no one gives Christianity or conservatism credit anymore. These stupid and uneducated people need to stop staring at the Bible until they think it tells them what they want instead of actually reading It. This is why I am glad to be Catholic.

Not receiving EU from solar panel. Help?
inittowinitall replied to Blaze0's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I think your copper cable may be two long. My solution would be to hook a batbox under your solar panel. -
Technic Pack-Mod Pack of Republican Conservatives
inittowinitall replied to uranium2011's topic in Cafe Lame
I would say it would be more like dictator Beer, but if you live Venezuela or Cuba, president works just fine. Also, I am the worst environment destroyer ever. If a liberal ever saw my old worlds before I updated to Technic 7, who would piss his pants, cry, run to the corner of the room, and proceed to go into the fetal position and stay there for hours. Nuclear power and coal burning factories for everyone! I believe the CO2 in my world is now about to reach suffocation levels. Goodbye all of my cows, and sheep, and pigs, and deer, and cats, and foxes, and etc. I won't miss you! -
Try making sure your java has the same bits as your operating system. For example, if your operating system is 32 bits, your java should be 32 bits. If it is 64 bits, use 64 bit java, not 32 bit. This worked for me and it should help you.
