I am not sure if you are confused by the same thing that got me, but I thought the same thing. The version of treecapitor in the pack now makes so the amount of time a tree takes to come down with an axe is dependent on how big it is, but when the block finally breaks the entire tree above the point should come down. Its faster to break just one tree block with your hand or the wrong tool.

If you are playing Tekkit, there is no battery box. They have those in Tekkit lite and tekkit classic I believe.

Awesome design. I will have to copy much from it. I especially like how you covey the babies away. I have a recurring problem where the babies smash up against the fence they share with the adults and if I log out and in while they are in that pen, they are mixed with the adults and outside the animal area when I log back. Did you use blocks to keep the animals in their pens? Perhaps I should stop using fences to keep my animals in better.... Is there a number of blocks that babies won't detect their parents after?

There are certainly not as many resources available as tekkit classic. I would start by watching mod spotlights on you tube. There is a guy called direwolf20 that has very informative spotlights on Minefactory reloaded, thermal expansion, and mystcraft. Others too I'm sure. After that there is a mod-pack specific wiki link right at the top of the forums pages. If you already understand build-craft I would look at thermal expansion next as it kinda replaces Industrial-craft 2 functions. P.S. even if you already know build-craft from classic it is worth it to look at a spotlight for the 3.0 features that are in new tekkit. Build-craft 3.0 is just the bee's knees.

Perhaps I'm not understanding but it sounds like you want a build-craft gate. A simple build-craft gate can be set to emit a redstone signal when power is traveling through a conductive pipe.
-
If you are trying to fill a tank you DO NOT put a wooden pipe on that end. Wooden pipes pull things out, not put things in.

I don't know about displaying on a monitor but I use red-stone torches to know when certain things are running. You know what is happening by which red-stone torches are on or off. You can even put a sign below each torch so they are labeled. I enjoy wiring red-stone myself and am not very interested in Comp craft or the red-net controller.

I've been barking up that tree since I discovered the tekkit forums. They may add more options eventually but now your choice is limited to either BC tanks or Steve's carts liquid managers. The amount of glass the liquid manager takes to build is sick, but at 128 buckets in one block, it is the current best option in the pack. There was a great thread on the forums called 'liquid storage solutions' just recently. It shows some compact setups for large amounts of liquid. The thread should still be there a couple pages back. Its worth a look if your not familiar with Liquid Mangers.

That makes sense. Its pulverized bone meal or blaze rods in an energy condenser all over again... Definitely can't have an exploit like that in the pack. Thanks for explaining that. I think your right. It makes me sad that a perfectly balanced tech mod has to be nerfed for an OP magic one. I might have just taken out that particular EE recipe if it were up to me, but oh well.

ah,NP. You know I think it might have riled me slightly because although the issue is FPS I really do enjoy chopping trees by hand and there may have been more than a grain of truth for me in your comment. I try not to mod bash but if I was going to my two least favorite mods are tree capacitor and omni-tools. I like all the tech mods, harvesters are fine with me and so are quarries, but the short-cut mods just seem to remove game-play from the game. Its not about doing it 'naturally' but just about having to do it. I feel like people that like those mods would also like the fictional you-win mod. The you-win mod makes your machines run without power and fills your inventory with diamonds. Then 5 minuets later it sends you a message telling you that you are the Minecraft Master and that it will now delete your world and that you should now never play games again and take no joy in life. That may be a slight exaggeration but it communicates how I feel about them.
-
What are you talking about? As I said in my post I don't like to use Harvesters more than necessary because 4 fps is annoying.
-
I thought it was awesome in this pack. It really was useful to me. Not everyone wants to run harvesters as they cause lag on bad computer. I get 10 FPS on tiny render distance BEFORE I turn on my build-craft and MFR stuff. It seems like your logic is that since there is already one way to get wood a 2nd way is not needed. I would figure a diversity of options would make for a better mod pack. Also if that's the logic, then why have Tree-capitator?

The saw mill used to turn a wood block into 6 wooden planks. At some point in the recent versions it changed to only make 4 planks per wood block. This seems to make the saw mill almost useless as I can do the same in the crafting square in my inventory. I wonder why the change was made? Was 6 planks per block deemed OP?

Thank you Toki and Tuxmelv. Between the two of you I found the screenshots. I now have a fascinating picture history of all the times I hit F2 by accident.
-
Thank you very much. I got it. I was placing the planter 1 block too high.
-
LOL. unless I can change the file settings by bashing my computer with a rock, I don't think I could manage that.
-
I got it. It was a complete noob oversight. I recently rewired my entire base when I finished setting up an array of bio-fuel generators. I accidentally put the energy tesseract on a conduit line that only sometimes has power.Derp! Sorry to bother for something so simple, but I did learn a few things from the thread.
-
Wait. So the space right next to the quarry block, outside the frame might not be loaded by the quarry?? I have been relying on the quarry to load itself. That could be it.I'll put down a loader on that end and see what happens. It looks like I am using a dimensional anchor. I just don't know what things are called sometimes and I have no idea what the practical difference is between the different loaders.

The bunny from the end of Monty python, holy-grail.

hmm I could not get it to work. I think perhaps I had my jungle wood one block too high or too low. Will experiment. Thanks for the information.
-
I probably could do that but I don't know how.. Screenshot is one of the F buttons, but then finding the file and putting in a post is where I would be utterly lost. I was unaware that they could be dropped next to quarries though, I'm gonna try that.

I have found you have to place saplings except for oak in a checker board pattern, just put cobble in the ground every other block, because when other trees grow they uproot saplings next to them. I use coca but it is a major pain as I know no way to automatically plant them in this mod pack.
-
I typically use phased pipes but I built some tesseracts just to experience all the mod pack has to offer. I was able to use items tesseracts on my quarry pipes no problems, but I can't get energy tesseracts to power a quarry at all. I tried using both pipe and conduit at the quarry end but nothing. Yes the little arrows on the conduit were set correctly. I also did set the quarry end to receive and the power end to send. Yes I also have a world anchor by my power source. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I'm frustrated.

Yes Myst-craft works in survival. I actually put a lot of work into the tekkit Myst-craft wiki yesterday. If you have not looked at it since then it may be slightly more helpful now.

Up and running, now what do I do with all this cobblestone?
Norman1346 replied to dirtyword's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Minimum stone lets you upgrade some of it. I found energy condensers to be game-breakingly OP. With an energy condenser there is so much you never have to build because you can just turn stone into whatever you need. When I need lots more I pump it into a gold chest. When I need none I void pipe it. When I need some I set my diamond quarry pipe so some-dirt n stone go to the void and some goes to a chest. Its random how much but it works out to be about half in the long run. You can also use it to fill in the interior spaces in your friends houses, you know, just so they are thinking about you...
