informative: why mystcraft DOES NOT cause lag.
Norman1346 replied to lytzhadow's topic in Tekkit Discussion
That would make me so sad. I am in the high 700s for mystcraft worlds in my game. -
So? It is my understanding that you will need exactly one and only one shiny ingot in all of tekkit, for the infuser you are about to build.

Lots of tanks, sounds cool, don't do it.
Norman1346 replied to Timendainum's topic in Tekkit Discussion
I don't see how needing liqiducts or pipes is a draw back??? 9 BC tanks hold 144 buckets. 4 liquid managers that can fit in the same 3 X 3 spot, including pipes and red-stone block, hold 512 buckets. That is 350% more, before including the extra that may be stored in the pipes or liqiduct. -

You can build BC tanks at 16 buckets per block or you can use rail craft liquid managers that hold 128 buckets per block. There is a great thread on this forum from a while ago called liquid storage solutions. There are some really good implementations of liquid managers on there, complete with pictures. -
Project bench does not distiguish between different link panal properties.
Norman1346 posted a question in Tekkit
Title: Project bench does not distiguish between different link panal properties. Version: 1_0_3 OS: Windows 8 Java Version: Version 7 update 17 Description of Problem: The Project bench, when making unbound linking books, will always create a book with the properities of the linking panel in the crafting grid, while it takes linking panels from the project benches inventory. (The list only had 1.0.3 but i thought my tek ver was 1.1.10) Error Messages: Error Log: -
In short IC2 is outdated. It is based on an old version of minecraft and it is not kept current. Most likely those two mods will never meet. Thermal expansion does many similar things with similar machines and you don't have to convert power for buildcraft machines.

Why no uranium by default? (In SSP or SMP)
Norman1346 replied to AnotherFineMess's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Will they ever fix it? I would like to try the mod one day. -
Why no uranium by default? (In SSP or SMP)
Norman1346 replied to AnotherFineMess's topic in Tekkit Discussion
That original post was mine. I still have no uranium n my world. None in new worlds either. I suppose they just don't want non-tech savvy people to use atomic science yet... for some reason.. -
I think this may be a bug but I don't see anything at all in the list of bugs on that thread. When I travel to a Mystcraft age and make a way-point, all other way-points across all dimensions disappear. Is this only happening to me? Can anyone else confirm this? Should a bug post be made?
-
The modular power-suit tool is ugly. I refuse to use it. I do hope Dwwojcik is correct about power tools coming to thermal expansion.
-
Do you think they might fix that in a future version?? I still have not been able to get any uranium in my world.
-
Relatively high up. I often find it above sea level.

You can use an MFR tree farm to get wood blocks to make charcoal and switch you steam engines over to renewable fuel. The saplings can be used in a MFR bio-reactor to make bio-fuel.
-
Is it the intended functionality that buildcraft lazers consume MJ even when not crafting anything in the assembly table?? I have determined that this is happening for sure in my game. I don't remember them having a constant power bleed before.
-
I may be missing something but the simple solution to me would be to input power on more than on face on the cube. Cube faces have that 100 MJ capacity but the amount of energy red-stone conduit can transfer at once is very high. In my game I have 4 cubes wired together so that power from my bio-fuel generators goes into two faces on the 1st cube and one face on each of the 3 others. They are also wired in circuit.

It depends what you mean by 'sorting machine'. If you mean a sorting machine like those that have been built by Duncan of the yogscast, you can't build those in this Tekkit, as they are Redpower 2 based. I would recommend logistics pipes to accomplish something similar in tekkit. Also Applied energistics makes it so you never have to sort again, although I don't really like that mod myself. I use diamond pipes to sort what comes out of my quarry. I don't auto sort anything else, I just put stuff from my inventory into the correct chest.

Frames defiantly have uses all there own. My understanding is that frames don't necessary play nice, without lots of fixes, in mod-packs though. I am no modder but I heard someone once say that 'they break everything'. I could defiantly imagine a crash happening mixing frames with the new quantum craft.

Depending on how many different things in the chest an advanced wooden pipe might work. They can be set to exclude certain items. That way fully charged and non-charge able items can be set to be excluded and items that need charge would be pulled from the chest. I think that would work because items with a damage or charge value count as different items when they have different levels of charge or damage.

Rednet would do it. I personally highly enjoy running red-stone so I never learned the red net controller.. I would build something like this. Horizontally, all on the same height level. D <R D D R> D T D=red-stone dust <R= left facing repeater set to slowest. R>= right facing repeater set to slowest. T= the spot where you put down a red-stone torch for just a second to get the red-stone loop going. I use that set up for all my Liqi-crafters as they take a pulse too. I hide the signal pulse under ground and send it up to the machine on a glow-stone block, in order to keep the red-stone signal loop hidden, since red-stone signal can travel up on glow-stone even if there is a diagonally placed block that would normally disrupt the signal.

Ok, then do ME export bus / chest / ejector / conveyor belts / lava or cactus.
-
Ah sorry , you did say that. I also have a Cactus named Earl in the corner of my lab. He eats everything and never causes lag.
-
Void pipe + logistics pipes FTW!
-
Yes! I can confirm I have been having the problem exactly for some time. Edit; I actually just found the bug report for this over on the bugs thread. It seems the issue is Rei's Minimap unable to load waypoints for Dimension ID > 9 It looks like somebody was able to fix it themselves with a 'hex editor' whatever that is.

I could be wrong but I though the 200,000 for the combustion engine is fuel, not Bio-fuel. As far as bio-fuel generators I built a setup of 16 of them. If I turn them all on I can fill 4 RECs in like 10 minutes. I have only used them with conduits. Perhaps you are getting limited power cause your using pipes?? Not sure really, just grasping at suggestions. EDIT; Sudden thought! You do need a REC. Bio-fuel generators pulse out power while TE machines use power based on what they have and what is coming in, so if they are not getting a steady flow of power they use way less and run slower.

Insertion pipes might suite your needs. That is how I keep my steam engines full of charcoal.
