Best Operating System For Tekkit Classic Server

Can anyone give me more information on this thread? -
Hello, So, I am going to make another Tekkit Classic Server on a dedicated machine, but I am unsure of which OS to use. From my reading around, I have decided for it to be Linux, but not sure of which flavor. I have heard Ubuntu or Debian are good, but which is better? I'm not fussed on which is easier to use, just which would be faster, better and uses less resources. This machine will be run headless. The specs are: CPU: Xeon E3 1245v2 - 4c8t - 3.4GHz RAM: 32GB DDR3 STORAGE: 3 x 120GB SSD's I do not need to use all SSD's but they are available at no extra cost. Also, should I use RAID. If yes, which is best. The machine is setup for software RAID only which there is nothing I can do about. And I will be doing regular backups anyway. Thanks, Syblemz

Plugin Plugin Creation For Tekkit Classic 1.2.5
syblemz replied to syblemz's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Okay, thanks. I will check him out, but the last person I tried to watch didn't go well since it was for a different version of Minecraft, so I thought it would be good if someone could teach me directly for 1.2.5. But again, thanks, and I will look at him now.- 3 replies

Hello, So, I'd like to learn how to make plugins(and maybe a couple of patches) for Tekkit Classic(1.2.5). I'm a complete noob and the one time I did try I failed miserably. Would anyone we willing to run me though making plugins and teach me how? Thanks, Syblemz

Hello, I set up multicraft on a CentOS 6.5 dedicated server. I added fresh, clean Tekkit Classic server files to it and then went to start the server using Multicraft, with the .jar setting set to Tekkit.jar. I have run servers like this before. However, with this one, for some reason it does not start but gives errors in the console. When I start the server, I get this in console: It stops at 'Loading mods from /mods.' Then, when I stop server after that, I get this: Can someone please tell my why or what is causing the problem and how to fix it? If you require anymore information, please let me know. Thank you, Syblemz

Okay, sorry I couldn't help.

No, I doubt it.

Maybe place the chests that the good cells end up in closer, so that the cells get there first? You wont have to to worry about the ice because they will keep going even if the ice is only at 63 in each stack of ice. Uhh, other than that, I dont know. :/
-
Nice. As with the timing, no idea. You probably have the timers for ice at 0.2?
-
Yes. I thought you already had it like that? If not, scratch everything I said, because 1 mffs heat controller wont be enough. That video shows you how to make one full of uranium. Sorry, I must have misunderstood you.
-
Yes, but if you use the heat controllers, they hold the ice, and dont put it "in" to the reactor. Meaning that the ice wont take the spot for the cell.
