  1. Uh, there are even TWO versions of microblocks/saws in the new Tekkit. They look the same, but for whatever reason, one set only fits on Rednet cables and the other only on TE ducts/conduits. What's truly missing is wireless transmission of redstone signals across dimensions, but I guess we wouldn't need the whole Redpower package for that. There are small mods that do exactly that and nothing more.
  2. Haven't tested it myself yet, but from what I understand, the Dimensional Doors mod allows you to create portals for intra-world teleportation, as opposed to the Mystcraft books, which will only teleport you back and forth between dimensions (though the dedicated link book room is a nice workaround that I usually use, too). http://wiki.technicpack.net/Rift_Signature I usually don't like these "cheap, fast, easy" solutions (considering the ridiculously low cost of that rift signature thingy), which is why I haven't used that method so far, but hey, it's there in case you need it.
  3. Very nice solution, but unfortunately, it won't work in Tekkit 1.2.x, as BC gates don't recognize tesseracts (and other TE equipment like energy cells) anymore. When I put a gate on a stone pipe going into the tesseract, I was only able to set triggers related to the pipe itself (items traversing, inventory status etc.).
  4. I don't know if it's a Tekkit issue or MPS-specific or something with the energy conversion framework, but the energy tooltip on power armor items is off by a factor of 10. For example, I have a medium battery in my helmet set to the maximum storage of 100kJ, which is 100,000 (M)J or 1 million RF, which is exactly what I can put into it using the energetic infuser. The tooltip, though, says "10k", i.e. tenth of what it actually holds. Not a huge issue, but quite confusing (imagine my surprise when that helmet that I thought would be charged with 100k RF drained my fully-charged infuser dry in a matter of moments) Also, the power suit items are able to draw energy from my flux-infused tools when their own batteries are empty. Haven't tested if it works the opposite way, too. I guess they share their energy pools, as the tools' energy is also factored into the number that's displayed in that little energy gauge on the right side of the screen. Bug or feature, I don't know, but it seems odd.
  5. If you don't mind, I'd like to add a request for something, anything, for transmission of redstone signals between dimensions. Wireless Redstone maybe? As awesome as the new PRC and the cables are, I cannot use them to control stuff in the nether or Mystcraft ages from the overworld. The only way to do that requires an AE network with quantum bridges, which seems a bit excessive and expensive for transmitting, let's say, an on/off signal to my quarry. EDIT: scratch that, it's not even possible with AE, I just noticed we're running rv13 and P2P tunnels were added in rv14 Other than that, I'm excited for the upcoming stable release. 1.2.2 has been running fine for me so far. Keep up the good work!
  6. Thank you for the reply. Yeah, I figured out I could manually fill portable tanks shortly after I posted. Better than using only buckets, but still tedious I hope someone comes up with another type of pump or makes the BC pump compatible with the liquid dictionary. With all those different pools now popping up in the world (sewage, sludge, not to mention that it seems Mystcraft worlds can basically have pools of anything), we could really use an automated way to pump them.
  7. Hi there, just testing out the new Tekkit beta. So far it's running fine and I'm enjoying all the new stuff Got a question, though: is there any way of pumping out various liquids from surface pools? I remember that some time ago when I was playing Tekkit Lite (last year's spring or summer, can't remember), I wanted to do the same and someone said that "with the upcoming update", the standard BC pump should eventually be able to handle stuff other than water, lava and oil. There have been a number of updates since (both Tekkit and Buildcraft), but my pump is still not working. The setup I used (pump, redstone engine, some liquidproof pipe and a portable tank) was doing fine over a water pool, but when I moved it to a sewage pool I wanted to get rid of, nothing happened. Oh, and I've got a randomly generated Mystcraft desert with large pools of liquid redstone that I can't pump out either (been scooping up the stuff with buckets so far). Do I need a special setup, or is it simply not supposed to work (..yet)? Thanks, rs
