  1. This however isn't an issue with the mod pack, nor a bug, it's completely a client side configuration problem, and any information regarding the set up or installation of the mod pack should be in this forum, easy for people to access. With as many problems with people not using the right Java version, or not having 64-bit Java installed, I'm surprised there isn't already a sticky tutorial to help that.
  2. It's most likely one of two things, you either have less than 4GB of RAM, or your default Java virtual machine isn't the 64-bit version. If you have 64-bit windows, you can fix this easily by uninstalling all JAVA instances, then reinstalling 32-bit Java, and then 64-bit Java. Doing this will allow IE11 to work properly with sites that use Java, and will make the last one you installed the system VM (64-bit.) Alternatively, if you have 64-bit java, you can run it directly from "C:Program FilesJavajre#binjava.exe" replacing the # symbol with either 7 or 8 depending on which version you have installed, so you'd just replace the "java" part in the batch file with that entire string, including the quotes. If you have less than 4GB of RAM, you need to edit the environment or check the Java control panel iin order to change the values you have entered. The environment can be edited through the System control panel icon, then (With Windows 7) Advanced System Settings..., and there's a button called environment variables. The VM options in the Java applet are under the "Java" tab, and then click on View... The column is labeled Runtime Parameters (At least with Java 8.)
  3. The only thing I really miss from buildcraft is a pump. My bucket clicking hand get's cramped easily. I'm sure a lot of people miss the quarry, but resources are just so abundant here, I can easily get by with my minions digging for me, and dropping the stuff off in my 'to be processed' chest. I'd like to see Mystcraft in mostly for teleportation. Enhanced Portals 2 seems to have quite a few annoyances with it, like causing strange entity bugs when you use it to change dimensions, although I just started using qCraft portals, they take up a lot of room, and the portal just doesn't look attractive to me at all, so it's hard to make look nice. As for Thaumcraft, while I love it to bits, and it fits the theme, it really duplicates a lot of functionality with the other mods, so I don't think it brings anything really necessary to the current pack aside from another technology route. That being said, I do miss my Haste III Boots of the Traveler.
  4. I would recommend just disabling them in the config (By setting their ID to 0) if you don't want to have to do that every hour or so while people are in there.
  5. Wouldn't those errors just indicated that Project Red was trying to acquire more heap memory at the time, rather than saying the mod itself has a memory leak? I have a small server with similar issues that will run out of memory after a couple days of uptime (Even with nobody logging in) also running Linux and the oracle Java VM. My problems didn't start showing up until either 1.0.8 or 1.0.9 I didn't have the issue with 1.0.5, so I wonder if it's one of the two new mods added around then, or an updated mod.
  6. The "Trick" to this is actually a bug. With advanced genetics, if you inject yourself with the "more hearts" gene, instead of it giving you five more hearts it gives you your current hearts minus five. If you make tinker's exo-armor all with "extra hearts" and then equip all your yellow hearts, and then red hearts (The yellow hearts don't seem to work for me unless I equip the red ones by right-clicking afterwards.) You'll have around 50 hearts, or 100 health. If you then inject yourself with the advanced genetics serum, instead of giving you 10 more health, it gives you 90 more health. If you cheat in green hearts, this means you can get up to 230 health with the armor on. After you take the armor off, you'll lose 40 health, but still have the base extra hearts from Advanced Genetics, so you can walk around semi-legitimately (if you consider exploiting bugs legitimate) with 150 health. And out of 15 wither kills, I've got 15 yellow hearts, so they do seem to drop every time.
  7. I don't know if this will work in a separate dimension, but if you place two hoppers facing each other on a chunk boundary, they will keep each chunk loaded. Worth a shot to try.
  8. I have accidentally dyed an elevator before, and if they are dyed, they have to be the same color to work with each other. That's another thing it may be.
