1. I ran into this problem. I did the following to fix the problem. I used multiverse to create a new world. Stopped my server, deleted the files in the new world folder, copied over the files for my main world to the new world folder, deleted the uid.dat file in the new world folder. Then restarted my server, jumped over to the new world and everything was working fine. Players just had to reset their homes. As they came online I asked them for their homes X Y Z in the old world and TPd them to the new world. No problems yet.
2. I run an online server for me and my friends. I have never had more then six people on at once and it has run fine while I play. You do not need to do anything to connect to your own server. I have read that most online server hosting companies give 60-100mB of RAM per player. You will find that the MAJOR source of lag is players exploring the world. The stress on the server to generate the terrain and then send it to people can be a lot. This is the only time that I have had a lot of trouble, and have seen the server throwing "can not keep up" messages. I usually resolve this by running a "/save-all" dumping the new terrain to the hard disk. If that doesn't work I usually stop and restart the server which again seems to write the new terrain to the hard disk freeing up RAM.
3. I have never done it, but I would guess that you would do it in one of the following ways. Method 1
[li]Select the area you want to fill with the wand or any other method (//wand, will get you the selection tool). You can over select and select the walls as well.[/li] [li]Use the command '//replace air oil'. You may have to lookup the ID for oil and use that. Recipe book can be set to show all IDs [/li] Method 2
[li]Use the command, '//br sphere oil 5' (you can replace 5 with a larger number if your server supports it, i believe 5 is the default [/li] [li]Paint the area with the brush placing oil where you want. Beware that this tool with replace the walls of your pit if the brush includes them. You can get around this by setting up a mask using the block that the walls of the tank are made of.[/li] Using either method you should be able to use //fixwater [radius] to set the flowing blocks around you to source blocks. Again, I have never done this, but I would imagine it is the same as lava or water. Another thought, you could probably find an underground gravel or dirt patch and select that and use //replace to change this into an oil pit. It may give you a more natural look.
4. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to post a config file for Terrain Control with tekkit resources added. This would be great as I do not fully know all the tekkit resources yet, and would rather use a tried a true setup then worry about finding out later that a resource is missing. Thanks in advance.
