Yes, this was added in this latest version of IC2, which is not what is in the current Tekkit. If it makes you feel any better, powercrystal's GeoThermal MK2 is directly responsible for causing the base IC2's geothermal being changed in this way.

This is going to end in tears, you need to make sure its Bukkit'd as well. In any case there is always quite a bit more block IDs left in Tekkit compared to Technic.

All three of you are assholes. You posted this in the wrong section. Not only that, but this is a known bug that is listed in the 'Known Bugs' thread in the forum you should have posted this in. There is seriously no goddamned excuse you can miss this. You didn't even bother looking to see if this was a known problem, or see if there was a fix for it (there is)

This is normal. Similiar to how you can craft a bed out of any color wool. The way its supposed to be done is you place the chest then color it, in SMP at least. When you break the chest you'll get a white-white-white one back.

No actually, EVERY single mod you've installed on top of Tekkit is required information. 'none of them should change' doesn't mean that they don't alter world gen radically.

This is an impossible request. Client mods are needed to make new blocks, sprites, sounds, items, etc. Without those you don't have the mods.

This is *THE* Buildcraft crash that has already been linked.

Using normal ModLoader SMP mods will not work, since the Tekkit server is a Bukkit build. You need to use bukkit builds of these mods you are after.

It's simple. You take whatever the actual ID is, then add 256 to it. So if the id was 200, the new ID would be 456.

But it doesn't? What did you do to your game to cause this? We need more details then you claiming that Tekkit breaks creative mode, when it doesn't because then everyone would be claiming it does. Also, you don't need so many smilies. This isn't the MCForums so don't treat it as such.
