  1. Tekkit uses CB 1.1-RC4, this is a link to download the WorldGuard version for CB 1.1-RC4, http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/worldguard/files/4-world-guard-5-5-1/ . Could you do me a favor and watch your CPU usage for me before/after you install WorldGuard and tell me if you have an increase like what I had here with guest permissions: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,5119.0.html ?
  2. I found Antiguest 2.5 on the Curse site, tested it, and am having the same problem. There's got to be an event firing off every time a machine modifies an inventory that Modifyworld and Antiguest are listening to. I'm wondering if there's a Spout mod that could be used to control how people were able to interact on a server instead? Until then I think I'm going to do an adminium box with an open top so mobs can get in, lol.
  3. I had a bit of intuition that modifyworld might be doing item restriction checks on all the automated stuff going on in alchemical chests/etc. Considering the Gem of Eternal Density changes things - often - this would explain the high load. So I turned off item restrictions, load decreased on one core and went up on the other, overall was a bit worse, turned it back on, was back to square one, repeated twice and got the same results. It's a bit odd, odd enough that I'm trying out bPermissions with antiguest! Thanks! Edit: Antiguest requires CB 1.1-R5 or newer (according to the 'installation' part, the 'download' part says otherwise), I'm not sure how to access older versions. Tekkit is using 1.1-R4.
  4. Hi all I'm running a server. I started loading up on admin mods and went from an average of 15% to an average of 40% CPU usage with no players logged on. So I went through all of my plugins and the culprit turned out to be modifyworld. Once it was removed, CPU usage went back down to stock levels. Needless to say, an uninvited Tekkit guest can really mess up a server. I want to restrict guests from doing anything until approved by a moderator. What else is out there? This isn't a formal bug report, but if it matters, OS: Server 2008 R2, fully updated. JRE: 7u3 No AV, no firewall, viewed via RDP, no background tasks. Other mods: Anticreeper, PermissionsEx, SimpleReserve, ChatManager, MineBackup, and occasionally dynmap (currently disabled).
  5. I used MCedit to delete most of what I'd done, but I knew exactly which purple blobs I was looking to delete. It works now, but it's still a pretty deadly glitch.
  6. Additional mods beyond Tekkit are the Bukkit mods Anticreeper and dynmap. The client is the development version with no extra mods and the server is the latest available. The error message is: What I did was set up a factory with the following configuration: EE mod energy collectors on EE mod relays on EE mod condensors with BC2 wooden pipes and redstone engines and golden pipes that were turned on by wireless redstone receivers with one of these transferring to an item teleport pipe. This item teleport pipe put the item (iron) in to a loop that split it via a distribution pipe in to two EE mod red matter furnaces which were set next to a single alchemical chest. This alchemical chest had a wooden pipe with two redstone engines pumping out of it. This did not crash with the redstone engines working on the empty alchemical chest. None of the condensors had their redstone engines activated for quite some time, and it was all quiet. I went and made the wireless transmitters, then I hit THE SWITCH (caps lock for evil science that backfired but was totally awesome at the time) to turn it on. I went over and looked, it looked like things were pumping out of the condensors alright. So I gave myself a congratulatory pat on the back then went over to check the furnaces. I saw that the redstone engines had froze, I got that face that Tekkiters get the instant they see a creeper pull up next to their bank of MFSUs, and then I got disconnected. I restarted the server, I cannot reconnect. What should I do?
  7. When I'm hosting Tekkit for two players on my Windows desktop (Intel C2Q9450 w/ 8 gigs of RAM), I'm allocating 4 gigs of RAM to it. I've had RAM crashes at 2 and 3 gigs on Technic (pre-tekkit days). Tekkit is probably better behaved and I could probably run it in 2 gigs of RAM, but the crashes are annoying. How many players are you looking at? Any less than 5-8 people (depending on your Internet connection) and I'd consider building your own server machine.
  8. Using a Bukkit permissions mod potentially destructive items could be kept out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them. I just got my little brother in to technic. First thing he did with a nuclear reactor was stuff it full of uranium cells in the middle of a millenaire village. It got me to thinking - as I watched him plow through another village with the jetpack and laser rifle - technic is REALLY easy to grief in. It's also all about individual play styles. I want the option to use EE mod on my private server, especially because it's safer than letting people have /give privileges. He's about to start playing around with quarries. There isn't a faster way to unintentionally and permanently screw up an underground base than to have a 50x50 quarry, with water on the surface so it'll mine through lava, bore through it.
