  1. well sorry if i chould get those easly i whould so jsut lay off me i cant jsut click on to my comp and get all my specs i ahve to go serching for like 30 mins on inter net for a program to do that since mycomp is locked bydefualt with a password no one in my house knows

Start -> Control Panel (or settings if your computer is stupid) -> System -> First tab it opens to. The information will be on that page. Now was that so hard?

  2. Ahh, thanks for letting me know that, I just know some games used to give you some cheesy little cosmetic item so you could say "Look I got to play it first and I have proof" and feel like you had a massive e-peen. Basically like some games do with "exclusive pre-order content" where they give you like a DLC skin and maybe some other crud that is really only for showboating. (Kinda thinking of Portal 2 with that, didn't you get something like the rolling cage outfit for multiplayer and a companion cube pen for TF2 or something?)

The thing about the skins and items for Portal 2 is that it's almost a direct parody of the item thing TF2 has. Also, there has to be some kind of incentive to buy the pre-order, like a cosmetic benefit or some sort of sale, otherwise the consumer will just buy it when it comes out, especially when there is no reason to worry about it getting sold out, as it is a digital version of the game instead of a limited hard copy version of the game. TF2 players getting items from pre-purchasing has almost become the norm for it, and the fact that Portal 2 pre-purchasers got pins (people who bought and played all the Potato Sack games for at least a very small time also got the Resurrection Associate Pin which was simply a re-name of the Portal 2 Pin) was never really a surprise, especially because it's also a valve game, and that's just the thing they do. Sure, that fits with the hole getting a benefit for something exclusive, but it's not the same as getting some sort of gameplay advantage, no matter how small, for something exclusive.

However that is something completely different than what we are talking about, which was paying for something that is normally free, which was also a deviation on the fact that MC forums is bat shit insane.

  3. The DOTA key thing is because it is a beta, it is something not everyone can get into. Kinda like how people sell first batches of systems for like 5000 dollars on eBay. People will pay to say they where one of the first to own it. Plus you might get a few tester perks or a badge or something.

The thing about the perk or badge thing is the fact that Valve doesn't work like that. In fact, most game companies don't give you a benefit for being a tester. I didn't get anything special for being in the Cataclysm Beta for WoW, I haven't gotten anything from being in the Closed Super Monday Night Combat Beta yet, and I'm probably not going to get anything for being in the Tribes Ascend Beta either.

  4. Why the hell would you ever put a price on a forum? That's like taxing people for breathing air, or for using their fingers. Why would you buy something for money when there are literally shit tons of other forums that are free. Like how people are selling beta keys for DOTA 2. DOTA 2 is going to be F2P anyway, so why pay for something that is free in the first place?

  5. Although I guess Valve is kinda the outsider on game trailers. Because they use the actual game visuals (albeit the models are a bit higher quality) for the videos. A good example would be all the Meet the Team videos for TF2. That's the actual game models (except for the fact that the models for the classes are higher quality) and rendering used in standard play. The DOTA 2 trailer is obviously the exception for them so far.

  6. I use avast, and i quite like it. It doesnt impact my speed at all, and i've never been stopped from downloading anything innocent.

One irritating part of it though, is that when it updates its virus definitions, it feels the need to tell you so, but the voice recording is REALLY loud.

Oh yeah, it has that voice recording thing. I only temporarily used Avast! when a virus disabled Stopzilla. That was pretty annoying.

  7. Now, I don't mean avoiding them because of dislike of them, but just avoiding in general because you don't really have any need to be there.

I personally avoid the Tekkit threads, the smp server threads, the avant garde threads, the yogbox threads, and one or two others.

  8. I hear the new Bioshock is Infinite too.

I kinda want that one. It looks fricking amazing. That is, if the trailers are any indication. But when have game trailers ever been a good indication of good game content? Rarely I would say.

  9. Norton is just fine when you get used to it. The only problem is that it seems to think every installer downloaded from the internet is going to murder your computer. The fact that it does small scans whenever it detects lack of computer usage for x amount of time is also a small bonus.

Personally, if I was able to switch scanners, I would use Stopzilla or Avast!.

  10. Eh, kind of. Most of the actual Yogs team and higher-ups on the forums are goons (given they started as a goon WoW guild); there's also Pudding Huxtable, who puts together the Yogbox.

The remaining 99% of the forums look to be mcforums types (i.e. average age, 12) who fixate on Simon and Lewis and find it the height of sartorial humour to make Jaffa Cake references. There are more sophisticated types hanging out there, but the signal:noise ratio is pretty high.

The average member would last about five minutes on the actual SA forums.

I know this is completely way off the road, but that seems a lot like the majority of Criken's fans. Most of them just regurgitate stuff from his videos. Kinda funny when you're in the group chat on Steam. Random people either pop in and then leave, others join, regurgitate whatever they remember from his videos, and then leave. I think I know exactly what you're talking about.

  11. You can still go there to say you reached the end of minecraft's "Infinite Map".

The world still has the ability to be bigger than the Earth though, so technically, it is infinite. Not many people I know actually go all that far from their spawn, and when they do, they only do it once or twice.

  12. Okay, first off, the launcher WILL NOT WORK WITH A CRACKED CLIENT. So until you switch over to a paid account, you will not be able to use the most recent version of the technic launcher.

In regards to the Comes Alive mod. Because of the sheer amount of mods already in the pack, there is a very small amount of mods that will be compatible with technic. You will probably run into a lot of errors trying to get it to work. So no, I don't think it will work.

The link on the technic homepage will download the version of the launcher that is currently in use. However, because you say you are currently using a cracked account, you won't be able to download the mod, as it needs a paid account because it connects to the minecraft.net server to get the actual game. It doesn't actually involve the default .minecraft folder at all.

  13. Isn't it legally impossible for the mod makers to declare they have a copyright on the mod because it infringes on the Mojang TOS? And the only reason why Mojang hasn't cracked down on any of the authors is because it does good for the community? So it that's true, it renders that copyright claim completely groundless.

  14. If by launcher version, if you go through the technic site, you will get the right one. If by Technic version, the launcher will automatically select the most recent stable version. If you are planning on playing multiplayer, you will need to select tekkit instead of technic.

  15. Okay. So there is a download link for the launcher on the Technic.com homepage. After downloading that, run it, and select Technic to install. After downloading the proper files, you now have Technic. If this doesn't help you, look for a tutorial on how to install it.

  16. The area where my well is is flooded because I forgot about water pressure and the water went around my pump. Good thing I had built a floodgate there moments before that happened. Now I need to wait until the short winter freeze before I can repair the damage and get another floodgate up where the water from the river enters the reservoir.
