Fill in a bug report in the bug report section.

As long as it takes. Try using Google, the search bar on this forum and your brain. There are multiple posts everyday with people having similar issues. EDIT: Have you read the q&a thread with the list of common problems? Are you using the correct and latest version of java? And do you only have one copy of java installed?

Is 'allow flight = false' in the server configuration?

Hmm. I would have said check for anything leaking out of BC pipes but you've done that. Maybe someone with more expertise can suggest something.

I'd say it was a bandwidth issue. The only time I've seen this error on my server was when I was running too many programs that required network access. Stopping those programs fixed it immediately. What speed is your friends connection?

Don't bump your posts. It's not buggy, it works perfectly for most people. The problems come from people not understanding how to use Google or the search bar on these forums and an inability to think.

Is the output connected to anything that is drawing power? If not then there will be no output. Just in case you don't know you will need the output to go into an lv transformer before connecting it to any 'standard' machines. Some machines can take the higher output, however things like furnaces, macerator, extractors can't.

I think you're misunderstanding the role of the moderators. It's not their product, they 'moderate' the forums. As to your problem. Have you tried all the obvious solutions posted in a million other threads? Make sure AVG is disabled/removed. Completely delete the techniclaunch folder from the %appdata% folder and try again. Make sure you only have one copy of java installed, and that it's up to date and the right one for your PC (64 bit or 32 bit). Try running it in xp sp3 compatability mode.

The forestry mod was removed. You can manually add it back in. There are guides on this forum if you search.

If you're running the server on the same pc you are running the client on then enter 127.0.0.1 as the address. Does the server show as available when you try to connect through the client?

Shiver indeed. It probably explains a lot. I've tried to think rationally about this person and her comments, but it's so ridiculous it can't be taken seriously. So we just have to treat it as entertainment. I've learnt over the years that you can't communicate in any rational way with these people, they're so deluded or self absorbed they just can't see any other point of view. Nice find though Niz, I'd say go and read her blog but unfortunately that's a pile of shit too. At least it's stopping work from being a complete borefest.

Disable your anti virus. Specifically AVG. It will prevent the update from completing. You can enable it again after the update completes.

Move the folder to somewhere other than the desktop. Also, Google and YouTube are your friends. There are hundreds of guides on how to start a server.

Me too! And it's Monday! I have an awful feeling that he's gone. And we will never again bask in the glow of entertainment he provides. That on top of the Olympics finishing is enough to give me the blues.

The only other thing I can think of at the moment is that his router may be blocking the traffic. Like you say, it seems like he's unable to connect to the server for updates/login. It could be worth trying simple things like resetting it. Checking to see if there's anything set in there that maybe filtering traffic. Has he been able to play before and has just encountered the problem? Or has it always been like this? If he doesn't have a router and is connecting straight through a cable or dsl modem then you could try doing an ipconfig /flushdns from a command prompt incase he's having problems with his dns server not resolving the address. Can't think of anything else at the moment, and I'm no expert so hopefully there are others who can help.

If the launcher was bugged then wouldn't we all have the problem? If it works ok for you and me doesn't that suggest that the issue is with the pc's of those who's isn't working? It really could be anything. It's easy to say 'delete your technic folder and completely uninstall java and install the correct (x86 or x64) updated version' as that does solve alot of problems but how many people actually do this, or do it correctly. I've only been using this forum for a few weeks and have found myself getting sick of seeing posts saying 'OMGZ won't works help! ' from people who haven't been bothered to read the common q&a. I apologise if you think I was snappy, but it's much more satisfying to find solutions for yourself. I'd be curious to know if this happens with the vanilla minecraft client too, or is it just the technic launcher?
