the thing about taking this to court for "defamation" is where are the damages? You have to prove that there are damages that amount to a monetary amount to get any money. Where has this caused this person to lose money in some way? Until this person posted it on youtube, no one would know who this person was in real life. Did this cause the person to lose their job? Or keep them from getting a job? ..... no.... so where are the damages? How do I know this? well, this came up on a radio talk show that a lawyer host just 3 days ago. Someone was asking advice about taking someone to court for defamation, and that is exactly what he told the person, that the person didn't have a case, and would just be waisting his own money on the case b/c there are no provable direct damages. A screen name on a online forum is just that, a screen name, it could be anyone in the world using that screen name, and until that person using that screenname comes out in real life and says it was them you don't know who they are, but by coming out and saying hey that was me, then you have caused whatever damages to yourself b/c b4 that point it was anom.
and to the person who this is about, not everyone on here is some little kid. I myself am the in the over 30 crowd, and I know how to act mature about things like this and just to learn my lesson and laugh about it. But I guess thats shows my maturity level compared to some people.
