Redpower Frame Airship Help.
gavjenks replied to synamen_sinner's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
You're WAY over the frame limit of 1000 blocks. Nothing will move more than 1000 blocks, no matter what. -
It should be pretty easy, actually. You need to install meters at people's bases, just like in real life. Each meter consists of a simple detector cable hooked up to wireless or CC or something. Send them their power, for instance, from two batboxes, but then step it up to extreme voltage for the travel. This will make it so that one pulse maximum is sent about once per second and a half (2048 / (32*2) = 32 ticks). The pulse will make the detector flash and then turn off again, so therefore every flash of the wireless transmitter hooked up or whatever you have = 2048 EUs used. Then price EUs in 2048 increments. Zalaria's idea is also good, having an ender chest system where you can have filled lapotrons or power crystals teleported to you and you pay for the power + a deposit that you get back when you trade in the crystals. If your customers live nearby, you could even do this with a couple of simple trade-o-mats. Neither of these ideas is particularly secure, though, and require more or less trusted folks who won't monkey with the machinery. I could come up with a secure system and post it here if you want, but it would be more effort.

Still supposed to be down, or did it crash?

I, for one, am NOT pissed at you for banning somebody over an unlisted rule.

Electricity to EMC, is it possible?

Stop the presses!!! -
private frequencies you do in game. /freq public 5000 I believe I dunno, when you type /freq alone it gives you help in game for it.

Eh? Deleting world folders should take like 30 seconds.

deployers put bonemeal into dirt, which grows flowers and stuff. If it is 0 level light where they grow, though, then they pop off as items. Which you can suck up with transposers and condense. You get about 4x the EMC as the bonemeal you put in every time, and you can put more bonemeal in multiple times a second. -

"it starts with a single block of sand." Uh, psst... this actually does not start with a single block of sand. it starts with a single block of sand, and a singularity compressor, and a generator, and like 18 other machines. It's also way less efficient than, say, a dark room, if you don't want collectors. -
So in other words, "I want to punch your face into a bloody pulp" is your way of saying "meh, whatever?"
-
So in summary, "I want help, but I'm not going to really tell you specifically what help I need except to give you an incoherently written list of random tekkit server things that barely make sense" ? Good luck with that.

Well, another good indication of stupid people is 15-20 grammar errors in a SINGLE SENTENCE. Well... sort of a sentence, I think. I'm not quite sure what that was. Perhaps if you were raised by wolves, or in the 14th century, then you could be very smart, despite having grammar that poor. Not so much nowadays. Now, it is a dead giveaway for "This guy is an idiot."

Only thing I can think of it is your cable is missing a link, or if the MFSU is not oriented correctly (orange dot facing the input would make it not work), or if the MFSU is full.

2 thoughts: 1) If it isn't hooked up to anything that needs power, you won't read any EU. 2) In that screenshot above, your eu measuring device might be measuring EU in the alloy wire not the reactor... Depends how its coded whether it uses hitbox or not.

1) Mark 3 collectors are pointless in tekkit, because they are almost twice as INefficient per EMC invested as Mark 1 collectors 2) This is a thread about making EMC out of industrialcraft energy, so collectors is not an answer to the OP's question... -
The owner doesn't want it included, and thus including it anyway would be illegal software piracy.

No no no, I mean, why do we need tekkit OR technic anymore? As of 1.3 maybe. But after 1.4, if everybody is using the new API instead of modifying class files directly, then all mods will be compatible automatically, and you can just install whatever you want on your server, without the client having to do anything, or you doing any complicated compatibility stuff. Which makes this entire site and project obsolete.
-
Hm, you know he makes a good point... why do we actually need tekkit anymore at all?

ugh sorry, i interpreted your original post as Like a permanent disk behind it or something. If you carry it that might work. Can't think of any work around off the top of my head.

sorry i meant charcoal - those calculations were with charcoal. -
Ahh.. gotcha. Sure, but... once they hack into your computer, then they can just do >>edit disk/startup and alter your disk program that checks for things and/or wipes the computer, so that it checks incorrectly or DOESNT wipe the computer I suppose maybe you could have transposers and like 4 copies of that disk, and every time its used, it gets sucked out, wiped on another computer inside and replaced with a secure version of the file, and the new one is rotate in from a chest. Getting a little silly though compared to other alternatives like ender chests and item detectors.

Hence keyloggers. You install a keylogger which can be done almost invisibly, and is very hard to detect without super annoying manual inspection. Then when they type the password in, you've got it, even though it wouldnt normally be stored there. There's other nasty stuff you could do too. Like hiding nukes under the computer, and rigging it to trigger them when the person tries to type the password. Combine this with a program that stops it from actually sending the correct password. They will sit there at the computer trying to figure out whats wrong, right where you want them for the 13 seconds until the nuke explodes. Grab their stuff!

Yes, this should work. You can make 1 glowstone for about 150,000 EU, which becomes 48 coal, each of which burns about 10 seconds at 10 EU/tick = 196,000 EU gained for 150,000 used (with scrap). Not terribly efficient, but at least some gain. -

No you can't because a bucket of lava is like 20,000 or 50,000 or something EU, and it takes 3,000,000 to make lava from UU matter (or 500,000 with scrap, still way too much). I do believe it is possible to mass fabricate oil (with an oil fabricator) for less than the energy value of a fuel bucket refined from it, but it seems like a pretty silly setup compared to just using a dark room or something (if collectors are banned)
