  2. I mean that it works fine with vanilla Minecraft with the standard vanilla launcher. (WORKING)

    6TCBGCu.png

It also works fine with the FTB 1.7.10 modpack. (WORKING)

But does not work with the vanilla pack through the Technic launcher. (NOT WORKING)

Also does not work with any 1.7.10 modpack through the Technic launcher. (NOT WORKING)

  3. jwa1 - the only suggestion I can offer atm is to pull mods one by one until the issue is resolved, with whatever mod that was pulled last being the culprit.

This also happens when I play vanilla Minecraft through the Technic launcher. (As stated in the OP)

So this has nothing to do with mods.

  4. Hello,

I've recently been working on a 1.7.10 version of my modpack Technolution.

All is going well, but I've been having problems with the new Twitch integration.

    TQRXvdl.png

It does not detect that my account has been linked to Twitch, while it definitely is linked and working in vanilla 1.7.10. (With vanilla launcher).

    chJt0i7.png

I am not sure if this has something to do with the way Technic handles accounts, It's disabled in Forge or some mod is interfering.

Forced crash for system info & mod list on Pastebin.

My question is what is causing Twitch streaming to break and how can I resolve it?

    EDIT:

Twitch integration works for me with:

    • Vanilla launcher 1.7.10
    • FTB Launcher Unstable modpack 1.7.10

    And doesn't work with:

    • Any Technic launcher pack for 1.7.10 (Also the launcher's vanilla pack)

This trailer is of the 1.5.2 version of Technolution: a few things have change since then.

     Summary.png

Technolution has modern expansions at it's core but it expands upon vanilla Minecraft in almost every way possible, not just machines.

We have more food, better player/mob animations, interesting new mobs and a whole lot more! Technolution enchances the entire Minecraft experience.

Technolution also provides players with a challenge: surviving will be difficult; food is hard to come by and mobs are relentless. Do you have it in you to survive? Come find out!

    On the platform page

You have my full permission to start a server with this modpack, all I ask is that I can come take a look on your server some time. :)

    Have fun!

  6. Hello,

First I'd like to say that new forum layout looks pretty good, it matches the technic-platform style very nicely.
Anyway back on topic: pictures and images in forum posts.
This seems to be currently capped at 10 which In my eyes is not nearly enough.

As a owner of a server, I try to make >my forum posts pretty with pictures of the server and other things and ten is just not enough.

I hope the limit can be raised/removed to allow people to make awesome forum posts without having to think about only able to have ten pictures.

  7. you didn't read one word i said did you?

How do you suppose word-of-mouth works on the internet? :/

It's not like people (or Minecrafters) have a place to come together and say: "oh, this server I found is really cool, you should check it out!"

I'm not saying that servers should solely rely on being at the top of the list to get new players, but it does help.

  8. Whitelisted servers take advantage over open servers.

Whitelisted servers issue whitelist applications that they often ask to be posted in their forum thread, bumping them to the front of the list. Servers that do not apply such a whitelist, have to rely on (good) reviews of people who actually play on those servers.

Example: Aegis Gaia Life vs The Saturn Server, both a custom modpack server.

    Stats

Aegis Gaia Life: 1363 views, 49 comments, currently at the top of the list.

The Saturn Server: 3395 views, 19 comments, currently at the bottom of the first page.

Aegis Gaia Life enforces a very strict whitelist, requiring players to submit an application before being able to join the server. This is done through their website's recruitment form (from Enjin).

At the end of this application, Aegis Gaia Life asks players to post the entire application here on the forums because this "helps to show the interest in our server!". By doing so, Aegis Gaia Life gains a comment and gets bumped to the top of the server list.

The Saturn Server is an open server, allowing new players to join immediately without having to fill in a whitelist application. The Saturn Server relies on players to post reviews for it to be even visible on the first page of the server list.

    Side note:

I am not judging which server here is superior, just pointing out the facts.

With the rules about thread titles, there are very limited ways to let your server stand out from the rest in the list, and where do you think most people go look for a server? Right, at the top of the list. Some might even scroll down a bit, but very few will actually go look on the second page and beyond.

With the current system, whitelisted servers that ask for their applications to be posted in these forums have a clear advantage against servers that are open and free to join.

A solution would be to take a formula like 'views / comments = server score' and sort servers on that score. (PMC does something like that with votes and views)

A more drastic solution: Disallow servers to post whitelist applications in the thread comments, have them use an external page (Enjin recruitment form / Google-docs form) to get applications.

I hope you see the faulty system as I do, thanks for reading.
