I'd guess it's the toaster, but it might actually be the problem I had with my temp-server I throw up for playing now and then. The router can appearently change a computers internal IP, which messes up the forwarding. It's quite easy to fix with IP binding, but it really made me scratch my head since I thought they bound automatically.

Oh, right. So just play whenever you won't get caught, or go all out and get someone relatively old to indirectly ridicule them in front of them. It is hard to set up, but works most of the time.

They are sensitive to guns? I fail to see the correlation between that and your game ban.

Try asking them for a proper reason for the restriction, then pick holes in their argument as they come (read up on the matter). If you can make them realize they bought into media hysteria, they will probably yell at you for being disrespectful to cover up the fact that they are wrong, and then "forget" that they don't let you play. Seems to work with most parents around here, at least.

Yeah, I'm probably a bit biased towards TB. He's still a great reviewer/general game about-talker though. We seem to have derailed the thread somewhat.

TBs video is a bit more compact, and contains source links. I like how Penn and Teller use the "cut away from the good stuff" technique, while commenting how lame it is of them to do it, though.

I think the EMC values come from Not Enough Items, the thing that shows you the item list with recipes, and not from EE itself. You should be able to disable it in the NEI options menu. Double-check that you can't use EE items if you're unsure that you've disabled the mod. I don't know if removing the mod file is the right way to do it, you can disable the items by opening "mod_EE" in notepad (located in your main server folder because EE is a hipster like that), scrolling all the way down and replacing the 1:s with 0:es (those that say "allowchests, allowpedestals etc.)
