I will admit PEX is very specific... if you are editing the config.yml using a text editor (Such as Notepad++) even having a extra space or something not to the format PEX wants, PEX has this habit of reseting the permissions file back to default so it can load, which may be why you were having troubles with it.

If you are referring to a world seed, an easy way to do this is create a tekkit server like normal, install Multiverse in it, and multiverse has the option to create worlds using a world seed. You are then free to delete the old world using multiverse as well.

While Tekkit lite does not have bukkit, it is still possible to install the BukkitForge mod to a tekkit lite server, which is compatible with a lot of plugins, but not all of them.

Tekkit Classic SMP constantly crashing.
Axle replied to Amberlyn's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Ahh Beastnode... How long has the server existed? As beastnode has this thing where when your server reaches a certain size, it starts to overwrite itself... which obviously will crash the server. One of the reasons I changed hosts lol. I would say try removing dimensional anchors mod (Simply by deleting the mod from the mod folder) and than make sure you delete the dimensional anchor log... which goes rather quickly but contains absolutely nothing useful to any server admin. -
Well, it would be helpful if you provided useful information, such as a plugin list, and a mod list if any additional mods have been added. On a different note, your first few sentences don't exactly make sense... Downloaded from Manufacturer? Tekkit is not manufactured and there is no 'Premium Edition'. When you say latest, do you mean the latest common version (3.1.2) the Latest tekkit classic version (3.1.3) or the tekkit lite edition (.57) (Though I assume not the last one as you mentioned tekkit classic)

Somehow disabled diamonds on my server, help?
Axle replied to woguef00tball's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
This post is very vague and I doubt anyone would be able to help with the information provided. The information we would need would include: Any recent changes to the server configurations, a plugin list, version information. -
Is there a way to search a server for a block?
Axle replied to Hotelmariofan's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
That log is usually full of rubbish and just grows without having any actual information in it. Hotel, are you looking for it to remove it? or just to find it? -
Bud... you expected an answer within 3 hours? Average wait time for most questions is around a day... very rarely do I see any questions like this answered the same day.

Try using materials that arent charged.

The blackhole band glitch is already well known... which is why the majority of servers have it banned...

What we have here is a pre customized server that is ready to go right out of the box. Running Tekkit 3.1.2 http://www.mediafire.com/*link removed* The server has been patched we a few of the available EE patchs, causing the Red Matter and Dark Matter tools to register a break block event. Permissions are configured for very basic ranks: Villager Moderator Admin Head Admin Owner Plugins: ClearLagg Core Protect Essentials GriefPrevention LWC (With all of the additional chests configured) Multiverse-Core PermissionsEX TekkitCustomizer TekkitRestrict World Edit World Guard Precustomized Banned Items: Philosopher's Stone Swift Wolf's Right Click Ability (You can still use the swift wolf) Catalytic Lens Destruction Catalyst Evertide Amulet Volcanite Amulet Gem Armour Harvest Goddess Band Black Hole Band Ring of Ignition Void Ring Mercurial Eye Ring of Arcana Watch of Flowing Time Volcanite Amulet Red Matter Hammer Red Matter Katar Red Matter Morning Star Red Matter Furnace Cannon Nova Catalyst Nova Cataclysm Dimensional Anchor Tank Cart Igniter Block Breaker World Anchor Anchor Cart Tunnel Bore Iron Bore Steel Bore Diamond Bore Work Cart Industrial Alarm Howler Alarm Frame Motor Mining Laser Wooden Hammer Stone Hammer Iron Hammer Diamond Hammer Golden Hammer

Did you try deleting the server files for tekkit (Including the mods) and downloading a fresh copy again, as the log seems to indicate a corrupt file.

Cannot get 80% of plugins to work. Need shop plugin
Axle replied to 0pteron's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
The trick isn't to update the tekkit server, you were misinformed. The trick is to download the proper version of bukkit plugins. Tekkit runs with Bukkit 1.2.5, which means all of the plugins you install NEED to be version 1.2.5 as well. Most of the plugin pages, providing the plugin is old enough to have seen 1.2.5, have older versions under the 'files' tab of their bukkit page. Just download those, put them in the plugin folder and you are golden. -
There is a way to set one up and allow him to play on the server. Have him buy a minecraft account.
-
PEX Does work, as I personally use it on my server. Have you downloaded the 1.2.5 version of PEX?

Server ran flawlessly for 2 days (Just started)
Axle replied to Nemata's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Oh beastnode... Well, what the issue could be (As it used to happen a lot to me before I figured it out) Beastnode has a cap on the amount of space you can use on their hard drives... and it isn't a lot, a few GB I think. Once you reach the cap, it tends to start over writing itself. Which at some point, it will overwrite a critical file and boom, server crash. Not saying that is what the issue is, as I don't know anything else about your server, such as the plugins installed that could eat the space. -
Okay, first off the reason you might be having trouble finding plugins that work with Tekkit is because you need to use older versions of plugins, version 1.2.5 more specifically. The majority of plugins work with tekkit, so long as you have that version. On top of that, you will want to install either TekkitCustomtizer or Tekkitrestrict, I personally use both and have configured them in such a way that they work with each other.
-
A) Tacking this onto someone elses post probably isn't the proper way and that would be the standard bukkit permissions file... I do not think many people use that actually... Most people opt for Group Manager or PEX

Blocking certain Mods on Tekkit Server
Axle replied to Voelkerizer's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Tekkit restricts 'Noitem' seems bugged I find... Some people can still get the item, despite the plugin and permissions stating the opposite. Now, I do use Tekkitrestrict simply for it's OpenAlc use, but tekkit customizer is a lot more useful when it comes to banning items. -
Blocking certain Mods on Tekkit Server
Axle replied to Voelkerizer's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Easiest way would to be flat out ban them on the server... use a plugin like tekkit customizer to rid your world of them and prevent people from crafting them. -
Tekkit/Bukkit Server - PermissionsEx problem.
Axle replied to cjp240573's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Well, if it is following that script to the letter, the 'Member' group is tabbed in to far and PEX will think it is part of the Default group, and PEX does not know how to handle 'Member' as a condition. -
PEX Comes with a plugin much like what you are asking called Modify world... though from what I know of it, it is kind of an all or nothing plugin... as in if you don't put the block in the plugin no one except those who are exempt can use it.
-
World Guard... set up a region then set the mob flag within the region to false.
-
Well... tekkit isn't something you can just install on a server, as it is it's own version of Minecraft altogether. So, you can no go from Craftbukkit, for example, to tekkit as you would like. The easiest way is to make a new server or erase all of the old server and install tekkit. You could salvage the Worlds if you wanted, but they would not be loaded with tekkit ores and such. Some plugins and their configurations also could be salvaged and modified to run with tekkit.
-
Well, by a glance at it... your server is trying to load Craftbukkit++... which is not tekkit. Either your jar file has been changed, your host has changed something, or it is corrupt. Try replacing the jar file with a new copy of it, and if you are running on Multicraft Panel, change the setting to Tekkit, if applicable.
