TheCowCrafter Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Help me please!!! i have made a new modpack called: The Ultimate Combat Pack, but it keeps on downloading at dl=0 when i want it to download to dl=1. i have tried changing the file URL at my modpack page, but it doesent work - any help would be greatly appreciated.
ChaosTheDude Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I believe you have to increment the version number when you update the modpack location for the launcher to recognize the new the download location.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted January 18, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted January 18, 2015 @TheCowCrafter: The "dl=0" you refer to sounds similar to what one must add to DropBox links, "?dl=1". However, without the link in question we can only guess. Please provide a link to your Technic pack page so that we may properly diagnose the issue.

Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted January 18, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted January 18, 2015 The download URL is configured correctly with the proper suffix attached to the URL to make it a direct link. Your modpack archive is in 7Zip (7z) format. All archive files intended for use in the platform must be in ZIP format only. Your /bin/modpack.jar is named "Modpack_.jar", is in the wrong archive format (see bullet #2), and does not have the correct contents. The modpack.jar file is simply the Forge universal binary JAR file renamed to modpack.jar. Don't mess with it in any other way that to just rename it. You should not include the /mods/VoxelMods/ folder in your modpack archive. This will overwrite local client settings when the pack updates. Steve's Addons mod requires Steve's Factory Manager mod. The VoxelMenu LiteLoader mod is crashing. You might need to remove that or do more research.
TheCowCrafter Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Thanks so much, but i still dont understand how to fix it... i have deleted steves addons, and liteloader but how to i fix the other stuff? is there a tutorial that you know of that could tell me how to do that?
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted January 18, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted January 18, 2015 Just make sure you are using 7Zip to create a ZIP format archive instead of a 7Zip (7z) format archive. Google for this if you can't figure out how to do it through their interface. The modpack.jar issue is clearly explained in my previous post. Step 1) Download the Forge universal binary JAR. Step 2) Rename it to modpack.jar.
TheCowCrafter Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 do i need to do the archive thing?
TheCowCrafter Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 or can i just right click and click "rename"
TheCowCrafter Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 okay.. well i have got it to launch, but now it just comes up as vanilla mc
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted January 18, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted January 18, 2015 You changed your modpack archive but did not increment your pack version in the settings page. The Launcher does not get notified of an update to the pack unless that version number changes. Your modpack.jar file is still completely messed up. I don't know how to be more specific than restate what I previously explained. Download the Forge universal binary JAR and rename it. DO NOT MESS WITH IT IN ANY WAY OTHER THAN TO SIMPLY RENAME IT. TheCowCrafter Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 i have updated the pack, and in the bin folder i have modpack.jar (the universal forge) and it is still coming up as vanilla. i dont understand what im supposed to do now. i have done everything you have told me to do...
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted January 19, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted January 19, 2015 Your modpack.jar is titled "modpack.jar.jar". Google "windows file explorer always show extensions" to learn how to prevent this.
