Dravenkai Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 So I was messing around with power teleport pipes the other night and I came across and interesting glitch. if you set up a power teleport pipe section right next to each other and then place a stone pipe between them this is what happens. This is what is looks like normally. This is with the pipe section between. Also whatever you do, DO NOT put a gold pipe in between it will blow up your pipes. Using this trick I was able to fully power a quarry with 1 single red stone engine. You ight think it's just a visual bug but it's not. If you don't beleive me you can test it yourself. It does increse the power machiens get. It's like it's sucking random power out of subspace.
The_DarthMoogle Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 That's actually given me a reason to use BuildCraft quarries instead of RedPower ones, thanks! :D
Dravenkai Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 That's actually given me a reason to use BuildCraft quarries instead of RedPower ones, thanks! Yup, just keep in mind the power output won't be reliable on the redstone engine untill it's at full output (red/orange)
The_DarthMoogle Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I was unaware redstone engines were capable of that output, shows how much I bother with BuildCraft. I, however, shall treat this as an exploit, and give anyone on my server who uses it a slap on the wrist.

Dodge34 Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 You're lucky enough that the teleport pipes are working, can't use any of them it crash either my server and my client or only one of them, and if by chance I can configure one set properly before it crash, I won't be able to get back to the area they were placed, good thing I've done some test on a test server and not on my actual real server with theses.
Tulwean Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 i think what might be happening is sense you created a loop(at least it looks like to me) in the pipes its building up the power and once it hits max the pipe can hold with out blowing up it releases it... interesting find.

Thats what my friend thought aswell, but the thing is if it was a loop. the power being generated wouldn't be increased. But in doing this the power actually going into the machine is 200% or more. As Isaid using this I was able to power a quarry fully at normal speed using 1 single redstone engine which normally is not possible. because the redstone engine does not put out enough energy.
Tulwean Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 could possibly have made some kinda of energy store too, who knows but its cool though

Energy looping in Buildcraft pipes increases in intensity until the pipe explodes. We used it to make breaching charges on a server once.

The Merchant of Menace Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Yeah, stone pipes shouldn't explode normally.
Dravenkai Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Yeah, stone pipes shouldn't explode normally. there's only 1 stone pipe section.
