Question

I have been playing technic on my server for almost a week and this just started yesterday. Whenever I am inside my own house, there is no lag what so ever. But as soon as I travel almost any distance away from my house, my framerate drops to anywhere between 20 and 5. The server is showing no memory issues. But walking away from my house, shutting down the game, then rejoining, eliminates all the lag. But as soon as I go back to my house and then leave again, the lag begins. This doesn't seem to be happening to everyone else.

That seems to be related to entites floating on the ground. If you are admin, and using worldedit, just type "/remove items 500" after u have logged on, it seems like u have that old vanillabug thats always been around.

If you arent the able to use that command, aka u arent OP, get a OP to do "/remove items -1" if worldedit is enabled on that server.

It seems like its a clientlag going on, and whats prob going on is a leaky machine using buildcraftpipes. A chest is full, and items drops to the ground.

The way you say u lag is pretty similar to that issue. Get it installed, do the command, and say the reading of it. Clientsided can handle up to 3k items floating in Tekkit (aprox), and serverside can handle up to atleast 20k, depending on the serverspecs.

-1 is for the entire server, any other value is related to the area around u as a player, so u can pinpoint leaky builds etc, its really recommended.

Edit, in the meantime, try to navigate to whatever place u have a farm set up, that might direct items to a chest/furnace/etc using buildcraftpipes- If u get to that area, and pick up tons of items, ur clientsided lag should go away.

Another source of lag like that is the sounds from certain IndustrialCraft machines, but oddly enough it only kicks in as you start moving away from the machines. I have a large water mill system (64 mills) set up near my house, and if I go near it it's fine, but when I move away, my frame rate drops like a rock. But if I turn sound down to 0% first, there's no problem. Just a strange IC glitch, I guess.

That reduced the lag alot. There's still a framerate drop all over now but its not as bad.

EDIT: Running perfectly now. Thanks alot.
