jdsdude Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I just started a tekkit server on the latest build. Everything works fine except that when players pass a certain point, the map generation cuts off along the entire line. Its a perfect straight line where deep ocean starts and no more lands spawns. This occurs at about the same distance from the spawn in each direction, effectively forming a square> i dont know if this is just smp related or tekkit related, but does anybody know how to stop this from happening so that the game will continue to generate land? Single player of same world continues spawning land past the point. It appears to be smp related.
Flappers Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Have you tried starting a new server (just as a test) to see if you still get the same problem? I've never heard of this one before, sounds like the chunks are not able to load, is the server overloaded?
jdsdude Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 could be server overload i suppose. Ill do a few tests tomorrow
Torezu Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Are you using WorldBorder or something on your server?
jdsdude Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 no worldborder. nothing other than what tekkit adds by default
Korialstrasz Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Did you start a new Map or did you upgrade from an older Version? I had the same Problem after upgradeing from 3.0.4 to 3.1.1 that the World just Cuts off and starts generation Ocean. But after some hundred blocks the World looked normal again.
jdsdude Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 umm i cant quite remember if we found the cutoffs before or after i upgraded... but i did upgrade recently so that may be it
Walking Fishy Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Might sound like a stupid question, but is it just an ocean biome? A screenshot may help
TopAce6 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I have had the exact same issue myself,... on several maps. i run plain old tekkit no mods to note. i flew 49k blocks and nothing but ocean after the first 2k blocks. this has happened in several worlds i created but not all.
Torezu Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Updating a server will do this - the seed generation algorithm changes, and the map generates new terrain that doesn't match biome or level with the old one. I've restarted more than a couple of worlds when it does this.
jdsdude Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 ok well the world is actually a copy of a single player world. So would replacing the files again do anything? because ive checked and the spawning continues as normal in single player.
jdsdude Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 or better off starting new then like mcediting structures over?
