Northern Star Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Hey ,everyone. A week or two ago I made a map in Tekkit, not knowing that it was really different from Technic. I have made a lot of progress in the game, so I decided to explore the other mods on it. The problem is, I realized that Tekkit is lacking some of the mods that Technic has. I am curious if there is any way I can convert my current Tekkit map to a Technic one. I tried to just move the file into the saves for Technic, but the item IDs are different, so my machines were not there.. Quote
Lothos Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 its not worth it. technic has alot of mods that need world generation to get the blocks to spawn naturally throughout them. Quote
Northern Star Posted August 13, 2012 Author Posted August 13, 2012 Aw... I see.. I was hoping I could just transfer everything. I guess it is worth it though, because I would be getting a lot more mods.. Quote
PieLover Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 If you're okay with not having a few of the Technic mod features, wouldn't it be possible to just alter the Technic ids to match the Tekkit ones? There really isn't a huge amount of difference between Technic and Tekkit, though I'm not sure how nicely Thaumcraft aura and taint will work out. Quote
trekky920 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Well considering how technic has Mystcraft installed, you could load a new "age" and just transfer between the two. Essentially, when Mystcraft generates a new world, it'll generate a fresh TECHNIC world so it SHOULD have all the thaumcraft goodies pre-made into the new age. Quote
