Technic Launcher Problems.

Zebrin

Question

Ok, let's just get to it. When I open the file (Run as administrator or just double click) It opens, says Checking Launcher Version, and then shuts down without doing anything. I checked the task manager and it isn't showing up at all there, so as far as I can tell something isn't working. Does this need spout to run, or any other third party program, or is it supposed to be a standalone? The first time I ran it, it went to 100% then just shut down, I waited a bit, checked to see if it was even running anywhere, then tried again. Nothing. How odd. Let's see. Oh, Running on Windows, nothing too special about my installation, save that I use the minecraft profile manager. But the .minecraft I have in %appdata%/roaming is up to date. So I have no idea. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, Here is the useful Info.

OS: Windows 7

Description is above.

Same with context.

No error messages, it just closes.

No logs are available.

Reach around is to run the .jar in the appdata/roaming/techniclauncher folder.

Solution may have been found.

I have the same problem as unkown998, if I run TechnicLauncher.exe, it says "Checking Launcher Version" for a second, and then it disappears.

If I run the jar from \Application Data\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar, then it shows the launcher.

Running WinXP SP3.

From KakerMix's thread. It is a bit of a workaround though. So you might need to set up a shortcut to the launcher instead of using to one provided.

The first time I ran the download for the launcher it seemed to have finished the download and then an error poped up saying "Cant find Java directory." Now everytime, before it starts the download again, that message pops up. I am running Windows 7 64bit, and as a side note i have always has an issue with running minecraft for long durations.

The mod select button doen't do anything.Anybody knows why??

Operating system is Windows XP

This is because you have not assigned a document editor for the .cfg file extension. Simply locate your .technic launcher/technicssp/config/ModLoader.cfg and assign it a default program such as notepad.

Try downloading the Java 7 version here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-7u1-download-513652.html

I have windows 7 64 bit and I dont have a single problem yet.

No issue with the Technic pack it all seems to run fine just a few minor issues with the launcher but I posted it on the Github.

I have tried this but the problem still persists. Im running mac OS X and set the file to open to text edit (mac's version of notepad) do you have any suggestions?
