xjjon88 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 How does cobblestone generators fare when making them with block breakers / timers in terms of server load? Can they easily take down a server!?
bertie2 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 timers cause repeated rapid lightting updates (though i belive this can be disabled in the config somewhere) so they are very server intensive.
warpspeed10 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 When used in moderation, they are fairly benign. However, when used in extreme excess, you can see a discernible increase in server load. You can disallow block breakers to break cobble stone in the redpower config, however, as will any item change, clear it with your user base first.
Tulwean Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 i had a 4 cobble gen going in to a furnace and a macerator, from there from the macerator in to another furnace to make glass, the other side went in to an auto crafting table to make stone bricks, both glass and stone brinks went in to chests. server ran pretty well.
VideoBoy Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 The timers are gonna screw yo stuff up. You should set the minimum delay in the RP config to, say, 1 or 2 seconds. Other than that, get a faster processor. When used in moderation, they are fairly benign. However, when used in extreme excess, you can see a discernible increase in server load. xjjon88 Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Where can I find the config to set a minimum time for the timer? I don't see a Rp2 config file?
uradox Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 In the redpower.cfg file. For example mine says: logic { enableSounds=1 minInterval=38 38 was the value I found to be 2 seconds through trial and error
