mendrinos Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Hi, i want to edit the source of the launcher to use it for my own modpack (i am not copying the idea i just need a reliable launcher) but i dont know where to start to change it for my modpack. Is there any ideas of how i can go about editing the source easily? thanks, mendrinos Quote
Jorcer Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 don't sign your post. As for the launcher it is open source and is a fork of the spoutcraft launcher. You could try the modding section but make sure you post in the right area Quote
GreenWolf13 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 1)Don't sign your posts. In the RULES it says not to sign your posts. i suggest reading them (the RULES). 2)Use the search bar and google. if you had taken the time to search "technic launcher source" you'd find that the launcher is open source. 3)If you can't be bothered to read the RULES and search for an answer to your question before posting here, you probably shouldn't be trying to make a modpack. Chances are, you didn't bother to get permissions, and you won't handle the rabid fans (of the modders) that scream for your death for "stealing" a "copyrighted" mod (even though you can't copyright mods for a game that you don't own the copyright too). Edit: The viking hacker beat me too it. Quote

okamikk Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Can we stick to the topic please? none of this is actually helping me... tought nuts, go look at the source code already Quote
Adlersch Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 The help was already posted earlier in the thread. Now's the part when we get to make fun of you for being an idiot and not reading the rules. ...Which is part of the rules, incidentally. Quote
freakachu Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Can we stick to the topic please? none of this is actually helping me... you have been given your answer. the launcher source is available on git hub, you are free to download it and edit it to your heart's content. most people here are not intimately familiar with the launcher source code, because there's not a lot of reason to be. it's not on us to find the functions that do what you want for you, or tell you how to change those functions to get the result you want. you are going to have to man up and get into the code yourself. there's a link to the launcher source on the technic pack website even, so you won't have to look far. good luck.
