Can't find my tekkit server on tekkit

I recently downloaded the tekkit server program and have hamachi. I started up the server and let it create/build the world and everything. when i try to add it to my server list, it never detects it. im not sure what else to post on here to give you info.

ok, my friend is able to find the server with the ip address i give him but i can't..

Server lists wont detect hamachi servers. You need to get a real server or port forward.

Most importantly, if the server is running on the same machine as your minecraft client, you need to connect to your loopback IP (127.0.0.1) and not to your LAN IP.

ok, i did the port binding and now when i launch the game it says "failed to bind to port" perhaps a server is already running on that port" i don't have any other server programs on my laptop

figured it out. someone put the ip address in the server properties file. 0=)
