0 Magister Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 make sure the engine is pointed at something that it can power, and i do not think a redstone engine will output to a conductive pipe as far as the wrench, make sure it is a buildcraft wrench you are trying to use Quote
0 nedned2k Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 More information would be nice, but I can infer that you're trying to power a pump/quarry/other thing that uses a lot of energy, so it's not working. In this case try having a ton of redstone engines connected, or try a steam engine. Quote
0 nicknicknick Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 no im trying to power an extractor with a redstone engine. cant u do that? Quote
0 nicknicknick Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 i even tried powering an extractor and a macerator with a steam engine and i cant rotate or power the engine. i can power wooden transport pipes for some reason tho Quote
0 Magister Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 engines produce mj which are used for buildcraft machines (such as quarry), the macerator and extractor are ic2 machines and are powered by eu Quote
0 nicknicknick Posted November 4, 2012 Author Posted November 4, 2012 so wat do i need to power my macerator and extractor with? Quote
0 Valkon Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 All IndustrialCraft machines need to be powered with EU. EU is produced in generators, of which there are six types: Basic generators, geothermal generators, solar panels (and LV, MV, and HV solar arrays with Compact Solars), water mills, wind mills, and nuclear reactors. 0 nicknicknick Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 ok i am a technic noob i guess haha. about how many solar panels will i need per machine? Quote
0 Wendo Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 It depends on the machine, how long you plan to run it/them, what storage you have, and if you have added overclockers etc to the machine. In short, start with a batbox, attach some solar panels and start storing power, connect up machines. Try to store enough power in the day to get you through the night Quote
