fojaxx Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 hey, i've set up an oil refinery on my frieds server. i've played tekkit for awhile, but never bothered with oil or fule. this time i thought i'd give it a try to use if for a power source. i set up my station like so: oil tanks, 5 in a row all connected to stone pipes (water proof) with redstone engiens pumping wooden pipes (wp), leading to 2 refiners powered by steam engines, then to fuel tanks. i then turned it on and expected it to work. the oil tanks drained, and the oil simply disapeared. i have no diea where it whent. i didnt see it flowing through any pipes and it never made it to the refineries... wtf. i have a sceen cap of the set up and problem area:

You can't go directly from your hard drive.

Mooseman9 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 First, your wooden pipes are backwards, secondly oil feeds into the two tubes of the refinery, not the single one.
fojaxx Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 its the tanks at the back, that are being fed into the two tubed side that im talking about not the ones on the side, also, i didnt know you could put a wooden pipe backwards.

If it is a wooden pipe connecting two things, then yes, it can be backwards, pumping out of where you don't want pumped.
freakachu Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 wooden pipes at the top of tank stacks cause problems. namely, the one you've described with the missing liquid. put them on the bottom and you're good. I'm not sure if input pipes can work going in the top, hopefully they can.
NightKev Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 You can pump into a tank from any direction on any of the vertically connected tank blocks afaik.
Lothos Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 you can only extract from a stack of tanks from the lowest tank in the stack.
