Technic Launcher installing and launching Vanilla minecraft

Description of Problem: I started having this issue around 10pm EDT when I wanted to access my technic it updated and started playing vanilla minecraft from my %appdata%/roaming/.minecraft directory.

I reinstalled and attempted to fix several times and it is still doing it. I tested it is starts to happen if I upgrade the technic pack to the "latest build"

please fix this.

Okay, first, the mods are likely to come down hard on you for doubleposting. Try using the edit button next time, maybe?

Second, I don't quite understand what's going on here - you launched the Technic Launcher and it loaded up Vanilla? Did you set it to launch Technic by using the drop-down in the upper-left corner of the launcher?

Im haveing the same problem

If i load up the launcher and run yogbox it works fine but if i then want to use technic pack it will just run vanilla minecraft, to get around this i need to deleat the .techniclauncher folder and run the launcher again to use the mods

When setting the Launcher to Technic and manually selecting the latest build rather then installing and launching the technic ssp located in the .techniclauncher folder it installs and launches the regular minecraft located in .minecraft

Both .techniclauncher and .minecraft are located in %appdata%

Basically it is acting exactly like the minecraft launcher you would download from minecraft.net

Some more info it is installing minecraft 1.2.3 with no mods and launching then when I attempt to launch technic.

I have this problem too. It only occurs with Technic.

The Technic Launcher when launching "Technic SSP" launches the .minecraft folder in AppData instead of the technicssp folder. This doesn't occur with Tekkit, and Vanilla. I haven't checked Yogbox. This started happening since the update last night.

I tried moving my technicssp folder and renaming it as minecraft. It still downloads minecraft 1.2.3 and runs that.

I'm having this problem also. I have unistalled both .minecraft and .techniclauncher from appdata, downloaded a fresh copy of the techniclauncher and reinstalled and still have the problem. I also tried downloading Java 7u3 but this has no effect either way.

This only occurs when I run the latest build 6.1.0|1.2.3. The build 6.0.7|1.1 still works with all the mods though they are a little on the old side.

BTW, I am selecting Technic in the upper left hand corner of the launcher not vanilla.

The latest build, the 1.2.3 build, is buggy as shit. Dev build. I wouldn't count on it working at all.

it might be better idea to manually select your build.. that way you dont get caught out with potentially buggy latest dev build.. you can always try manually update to latest to test.. but thanks for the feedback will try and take a look and see whats happening.

Hello everyone,

As several users on this post, I too am having this issue. Whenever I try to play Technic it loads up my 1.2.3 Minecraft with all of its corresponding worlds. Sometimes whenever I go to an older version of Technic it works, but sometimes it doesn't. The reason I'm posing this though is because I am on a Mac. If someone could tell me a path that I could use to delete/ mess around with files I would greatly appreciate it

I'm having the same problem. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it but it did not work. I think I'll just continue playing on the recommended build for now.

Yeah, this is probably the best thing to do in this situation. You should probably only use the recommended build unless you are bug testing, as it is likely to be quite glitchy.

I had the same problem but with technic 7.0.0 and 7.0.1 also i still had NEI installed but no other mods. FYI i use linux
