Problem retrieving modpack on some clients

I have made my first modpack, and installed it myself without problems.

But my son can't get it to work - the launcher won't download the pack.

On the same laptop, we've verified that the URL reported as not working by the launcher can be downloaded using both Chrome and IE and we can unzip the result by "rightclicking".

Would appreciate it if anybody could tell me why the Launcher dislikes my zipfile

I've posted in both the IRC channel and the Discord discussion group about this issue so hopefully one of the staff will be able to provide more information.

Tried zipping with 7za instead (-tzip of course) but same problem.

Finally got it to work.

I had to create another webserver without encryption.

I don't know if Technic is incompatible with HTTPS in general, or the problem lies specifically with LetsEncrypt. But I can imagine that it is HTTPS in general and that the issue pops up when the client is told to follow a URL which changes protocol.

In that case, the configuration option for the modpack URL could actually be made to complain about URL's starting with https://

URLs starting with https:// should work fine provided your certificates are valid and issued through a trusted authority.
