Shadow_wolf Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Hello, On my server that I just made, I've recently tried to get a quarry working. I'm powering it with 3 steam engines and redstone torches, but it doesn't seem to be building the pipes. I was wondering if anyone out there has had the same issue and knows how to fix it. I've heard somewhere that PEX sometimes does it. Thanks in advance!
Aeolos Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 You don't need the redstone torch to be powering the quarry and this may actually be preventing it from working. Make sure there isn't a redstone signal going to the actual quarry but ensure the engines are adjacent and operating.
Shadow_wolf Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Thanks for the suggestion I'll see what it does though I don't think that's the problem
Shadow_wolf Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 OK so I tested it out and it still doesn't seem to be working. Anyone have any other suggestions?
Wendo Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I you use permissions, you need to give the [buildcraft] user permission to break blocks, the simply way is to just op that user. Doing it properly involves setting up a rank with just the permissions the user needs. Depending on what other plugins you have running there may need to be configuration for those too (factions and towny may require it if the quarries are on claimed land)
Shadow_wolf Posted November 23, 2012 Author Posted November 23, 2012 Can you give more info about the [buildcraft] command? I've never heard of it. Plus I'm trying to avoid opping myself due to the fact that I would like to play legit. Thanks for the help!
Wendo Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 There is no [buildcraft] command. It is a fake user, that you need to allow the ability to break blocks (among other things) via your permission system. Most of the major mods have fake users. Do a search of the forum for [buildcraft] and you'll see a lot of threads

Shadow_wolf Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 I did the search but no forums popped up.
McBorg Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 If your using the grief prevention plugin you will need to disable it until pipes are built or do something like /trust buildcraft in the claim
Shadow_wolf Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 All I need is somebody to explain how to allow buildcraft and redpower and possibly other mods to be allowed to break blocks. I read that I need to create a fake user such as [buildcraft] and give it permission to build but I need an explination on how to do this properly. I dont know if Im missing information out there somewhere but there is nowhere that tells you how to actually how to do it.
Zenalia Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 You couldn't find anything? http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/Quarry http://minecraftbuildcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Quarry http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/3-0-3-3-0-4-buildcraft-quarry-stoping-while-mining.10964/ http://www.mcportcentral.co.za/index.php?topic=1489.0 Not to mention Wendo already told you what you had to do. This took me about 5 seconds to find.
Shadow_wolf Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 I acknowledge the fact that Wendo told me what to do but not HOW to do it. I will give it a try EDIT: I appreciate the help from everyone, it worked :D
