Tekkit Legends Crash upon join

Hey so my friend and I are trying to play Tekkit Legends. he can play tekkit just fine but for some reason when he joins tekkit legends it crashes.

he has the proper java x64, he has updated graphics drivers, and he has 2.5 gigs allocated

Any help would be awesome,
