shnashable
So a friend and myself have decided to take the leap into Tekkit, but the question is, is there a way to convert our old Vanilla Minecraft world into a Tekkit one? Any Help would be appreciated.
DragnHntr
Try copying over the world files from your old server to the tekkit folder. If they won't load then no it doesn't work What version are you running the old server on? If it is higher then 1.1 then I am guessing it will not work, but the best way to check would be to just try it hehe.

However, be advised, that new ores will not be generated in chunks you have discovered so you'll have to set off on a new adventure to get things like tin, copper, etc.

Nothing terrible, just a lot of vertical cliff faces when you get near the border. You can use a map editor to delete chunks you don't mind losing, which will cause new chunks with the new ores to be generated when you revisit the area.
